Osama Bin Laden's deputy led U.S. troops to the Al Qaeda leader's hideout so he could take over the terrorist group, it was claimed today.
Egyptian Ayman Al Zawahiri, who has been touted widely as the man who will succeed Bin Laden as the head of Al Qaeda, turned his back on his terrorist leader following a prolonged power struggle, according to a Saudi newspaper.
The plot to get rid of Bin Laden began when Zawahiri’s faction persuaded bin Laden to leave the protection of the tribal areas along the Afghan-Pakistan border.
Al Qaeda's Egyptian faction then hatched a plan to dispose of Saudi-born Bin Laden after irresolvable divisions developed between the terrorist group's top two men.
'The Egyptian faction of Al Qaeda is defacto running the organisation now and since he was taken ill in 2004 they have been trying to take full control,'

I remember hearing about that; just think, if he had succeeded, he would be a new American legend.
the problem being, that without Bin Laden, Zawahiri has likely lost his authority; if Bin Laden were alive to publically pass power to Zawahiri and bless Zawahiri as his official successor, I am more than sure that Zawahiri won’t have to fight as he will have to now.
There will be many who will want power and Zawahiri was just Bin Laden’s ‘community organizer.’ There’s going to be a lot of internal division and I hope our ops take advantage of it.
A full brigade in the immediate area .... and the national military academy.
Wonder how many battalions of antiaircraft artillery and guided missiles they have in the area? And nobody's radar lit up when helicopters started orbiting over Abbottabad?

Meanwhile, the rest about Zawahiri sounds like it could be inspired dissension-sowing in the MB ranks .... marking Zawahiri as a Judas and a backstabber to the other MB rank-and-file.

Are you kidding? Have you been following events in Egypt? They are handing it over, with Obama’s HELP, to the Muslim Brotherhood. And Obama HATES Israel. As does Hillary.
