Sorry for this little boy but shouldn’t SOMEONE have been watching him climb a guard rail and enter a restricted area?

Leopards have killed more people than any other feline including lions and tigers.

What was the parent/guardian doing while the boy was climbing over the guardrail??

For the 7-year-old boy, I have some sympathy.

For the woman in Germany? No sympathy. None.

The guilty kitty.
I have taken kids to the zoo many times, and my rule is simple: Anyone in the "pet the kitty" age bracket needs to be watched constantly.

Zoo officials do have the animal under control. i guess that means the kids been removed from the side of the cage......

As everyone knows, some ambulance chasing attorney will literally pounce on the parents of this kid faster than any leopard can move. If I was the leader/chairman of the zoo, I would sue the parents for not taking care of the kid better. The county or the state should go after the parents for child endangerment and/or child neglect for not watching their kids better.
But of course I know what will happen. The attorney will lie to the parents about the zoo not having safety at the foremost of their minds, the zoo not having enough personnel watching their kid while they were probably drinking an alcoholic beverage on a park bench only 3/4s of a mile away from their child and the zoo should pay for all medical bills plus pain and suffering for the parents having to deal with an attorney.
Just my opinion, of course.

Wow. Child should have been better monitored, I’m surprised there was a guardrail a 7 year old could get over where he could be accessed by a leopard, just a couple of things that seem a little stupid here. But prayers for the child. I hope he gets better soon.

That is a beautiful cat. Also--and this is easy to forget in a zoo--very, very deadly. Most definitely not a lolcat.

I can tell you its an odd feeling to be at the zoo with your kid and have a leopard go into predator mode and focus on your child.
Then there was the time that I was a teenager and my car broke down in the middle of six flags Leopard country safari...

people riding the zoo tram saw the attack, jumped off and scared the leopard away. Hey, reporter! Where's the rest of the story? Like: "Where were his parents or adult(s) responsible for watching him?"
