Pakistanis say U.S. shot bin Laden in "cold blood"

(Reuters) - A senior Pakistani security official said U.S. troops killed Osama bin Laden in "cold blood", fuelling a global controversy and straining a vital relationship Washington was trying to repair on Thursday.

And Pakistan's army, in its first comment since Monday's raid, threatened to halt cooperation with its military sponsor if it repeated what it called a violation of sovereignty.

But Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Washington was still anxious to maintain its alliance with Islamabad.

"It is not always an easy relationship. You know that," she said.

"But, on the other hand, it is a productive one for both our countries and we are going to continue to cooperate between our governments, our militaries, our law-enforcement agencies, but most importantly between the American and Pakistani people."

Killing Bin Laden in cold blood ranks just below whether or not my trash can is facing the right direction down at the road on my ‘give a damn’ list.

Pakistan’s intelligence service, and by extension, its military-led government protected and sheltered a cold-blooded, mass murdering terrorist. If the United Nations were not such a laughable farce, we would have every right to demand their expulsion.

The only correct response for the Hildabeast is to turn to her Pakistani detractor and say in a stern voice “You want some of that”?

I suspect some of the captured intel will implicate the ISI so completely, the Pakis are already counting on a much changed relationship with the U.S. once it’s analyzed. OBL being dead doesn’t mean he’ll never talk...Score one for the digital age.

Consider it “humane” that he was killed instantly and quit your bitchin’!

Bastards can kiss my lily white A$$, I don’t care. He got a much better death than the thousands of innocents massacred on 9/11 and the other crimes he’s responsible for.

What if OBL actually killed HIMSELF before the door was broken down?

As a true martyr he may have wanted to off himself rather than be taken down by the infidels.

It will be quite interesting to see just how Barry spins this. Will he try to throw the military under the bus?

After claiming credit for everything? It's a little late in the game for Obama to start backpedaling now. How's he going to explain the "I got Osama, I ordered the hit, me me me" press conference he gave on Sunday? Answer: he isn't. Obama can't possibly throw the SEALs under the bus without exposing himself as a lying, glory stealing buffoon. He'd lose every independent vote in the country.

How many Democrats can truly stomach this?

They'll shut up and do what they're told. That's what makes them Democrats. I've already laughed off jubilant liberal pals, by pointing out that they'd be charging Bush with premeditated, extra-judicial death-squad murder if this had happened under his watch. After a second of two of thought, they agree, and get less jubilant. But they'll still vote for Obama.

For me, I want to know the truth of what happened.

Was it the glorious firefight led by Obama or simply an execution of unarmed people.

Either way, I want to know the facts for a change. Leave all the hyperbole to the policians.

A woman takes pictures next to posters of U.S. President Barack Obama and al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden before a gathering by Indonesia's Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) in Jakarta May 4, 2011. Indonesian Islamists hailed Osama bin Laden as a martyr on Wednesday, illustrating sympathy for the al Qaeda leader killed by U.S. forces among Southeast Asian militant groups, one of which predicted a major reprisal attack.

EVERYONE will LOVE US if we just elect Obama President!

Pakistani pushback to regain some propaganda ground, lost in the embarrassing “Osama is a soccer dad living next to the Paki military” debacle.

I’m not denying the greatness of the event but it seems to me that this is quickly becoming a PR liability for the president, even though I personally (and many other Americans) have been waiting years for this.
BTW, what I’ve noticed most around campus is a deafening silence regarding the death of OBL.

First the tears, now the anger: Pakistanis burn U.S. flags as backlash over Bin Laden’s death grows

These were the angry scenes across Pakistan today as Muslims staged protests against the killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Hundreds of people marched through Multan, burning U.S. flags and waving placards as they warned the terrorist’s death could produce many more radical figures to take his place.
It comes after crowds of weeping mourners were pictured offering funeral prayers for the Al Qaeda mastermind widely blamed for thousands of deaths at 9/11.

In most cases, I could completely agree with you. I don't care Osama is dead, because we have his hard drives. That's where any plans or organizational data will be stored, contact lists, etc. A treasure trove in some ways more valuable to intel personnel than the owners themselves.

That said, there's some things that won't be on computers or hard drives, and not because they're being hidden. If the ISI was putting up Osama in their safe house, they probably didn't have him sign a rental agreement and email him a copy. This coordination were likely done in person.

There may be some very convincing data showing that Osama and the ISI were working together. Still, I suspect the relationship was more of the ISI keeping Osama in a guilded cage, and less of an active partnership. That kind of protection deal wouldn't leave much in the way of paperwork laying around.

The great thing about the “controversy” is that not even the most die-hard Islamists are claiming that Osam Bin Laden was wearing a suicide vest.

As we kill off their entire warrior class over the next generation, the fact that terror leaders aren’t willing to martyr themselves will gradually soak in to an international consciousness.

In another 20 years the Islamofascists will be entirely neutered, mostly effiminate, and more “peaceniky” than a Berkeley Prius driver.
