WASHINGTON A federal commission is calling for a national museum devoted to American Latino history and culture to be built on a grassy site next to the Capitol as part of the Smithsonian Institution.
.. the museum would represent Latinos on the National Mall where their heritage has been absent.
...
It calls for the museum to be established as the Smithsonian American Latino Museum. ..

How about a FReePer Museum or a TEA Party Museum too?
We could build it next to the Jefferson Memorial.. Oh for say,, 400 million.. Ya in? ;-)
pure BS...BS...BS...our whole country is lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no such thing as a Latino race or a white race. There should be no taxpayer funded museums for either.
I took three years of Latin in high school. My ancestors came from a part of England that was a part of the Roman empire. Does that make me a Latino?
Smithsonian American Latino Museum already exists - it is in the basement of the Alamo.
Looks like Osama’s “million dollar” pad.
Where’s the Smithsonian Scots Museum? And what about Latinas?
You’re right, it does already exist except that it’s called The National Museum of American History. Same place that should have sufficed instead of the ill-conceived Museum of African-American History.
Be a lot cheaper to build this in Tijuana.
First thing they'd complete would be a tunnel into SoCal.
To be paid for by Latinos, of course????
Tiajuanna
Would they stop trying to divide us, just for a moment?
The oldest European city in the US, St Augustine, Fl, was founded by the Spanish and was Spanish from 1565 to 1821 (with a brief 20-year British period as a result of the French and Indian War) and Spain was very important throughout the South, Southwest and West until the mid-19th century. But all of the heirs of the Spanish who stayed here have married people with names like O’Neill, and there’s really no reason to separate them out.
Unless, of course, you want to use them. Nah, the Dems wouldn’t do that, would they?
Let the hispanics set it up in Tiajuana.
We already have too much pulling Americans apart.
It’s time to throw diversity in the toilet where it belongs and get back to uniting Americans instead of thinking up new ways of keeping us apart.
Build it and they will come! But, build it in Mexico City!...with Mexican funds!
