The White House had been weighing the release of a photo, in part to offer proof that bin Laden was killed during a raid on his compound early Monday. However, officials had cautioned that the photo was gruesome and could be inflammatory.

We can watch the gruesome videos of 9/11 every year, but we can't see a gruesome picture of the man that committed these acts?

These photos will be leaked by wireless transfer outside of the Senate or the intelligence community, by zip/flash drive, e mailed as attachments outside of the system, some way somebody is going to leak it to the outside world. Has Obama learned nothing about net activism, advanced communications technology in this day and age, which he so much praised in Cairo for opening up closed regimes and forcing them into openness?

He forgets that what brought down Mubarak could well bring down Obama--he cannot sandbag on this, but he can try--he will be more than embarrassed. This is a new day.

Osama died back in December 2001. They can only release faked photos and they aren’t going to do that after the obvious ‘shopped birth certificate fiasco. Just saw McCain on FNC say that he agrees with Obama's decision not to release the photos. Wish I could say I'm surprised by his idiocy/weakness, but I can't.

Someone might have already commented this, but I find it the height of hypocrisy in this decision to not release the photo. All the Barry defenders and the WH are saying it's too gruesome to look at and they are trying to not inflame tensions. Hmmm...riiight, was that the same mindset when libs and the MSM were dropping images of our soldiers coming home in flag-draped coffins, or images of soldiers and civilian contractors mangled bodies in Iraq, or images from Ab-Gurab?

And on a side not. I DON'T GIVE A FLYING @&%$ WHAT THE ARABS WOULD THINK ABOUT THE PHOTO. The vast majority already condone, enable, or support violence against the USA, so a photo of one of their dead 'leaders' isn't going to change things much. Ya know what it will change, it'll make a lot of Americans, including myself, feel very good and proud.
