The proposed Da Nang Airport clean-up project today took another step toward commencing, as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) alerted potential contractors to a planned site visit and pre-proposal conference that the agency will hold May 25 in Vietnam.

Why is my tax money being used to pay for this. Let them get the funding from the Russians and the Red Chinese.
The filthy Commie Pinkos wanted the place so bad, let them clean it up on their own nickle. This is ridiculous.
Well, then there’s this...
remember how Agent Orange was not the cause for all the illnesses our former servicemen suffered - according to the “experts”...
Just before his death in 2008 of liver, lung & brain cancer, my father attempted to locate the fellows he served with in Da Nang (Navy Seabees) to see if any of them had also suffered from bizarre cancers.
He was too late - everyone he tried to reach was already dead.
Cleanup now? You gotta be kidding.

Doubtful this can be done. And at what co$t?
Every dime of this money should be going to veterans, not Viet Nam.
Bill them for the roads and airports and seaports we built them. Ungrateful bastards. A good wage in Vietnam is $100 a month. What do they make in Germany and Japan? Dumbass Vietnamese. Lose to us, and your country takes off. Fight us to the bitter end and work for less than a buck an hour. Real smart.
After the communist takeover in 1975, South Vietnam had to actually IMport rice! That is akin to Iowa importing corn! Communist agricultural methods leave much to be desired...
As an RVN vet, they can KMA.
Let me see..pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, renal cysts, emphysema and other lung issues, hypertension, early stage diabetes mellitus so far. 2 brothers also served in the military (Japan & Korea) neither of which has ever been sick. The only thing the VA will admit was agent orange caused is the prostate cancer. Right, lets give our tax money to the commies. RVN 70-71.

My husband also had mutant cancers (as the doctors called them) since they had no idea what was killing him.
My husband spent two tours in Nam. He was never ill, had never taken any kind of medicine even OTC medications before going to Nam.
I tried to tell the VA he was poisoned in Nam. They denied this.
A number of my fellow Vietnam War veterans have suffered with the effects of Agent Orange caused cancers. I was based in the Delta where Operation Ranch Hand was very active.
