Yep...my old German Shep was absolutely obedient and I had no problem bathing him, whether it was outside with the hose, in the tub/shower, etc. There is no doubt in my mind he'd have let me jump out of a plane with him. My Belgian Terv on the other hand LOVES the water...
...unless soap is involved. Shampoo is to him what Holy Water is to vampires. The SOP now is for me to let him outside while I discreetly fill the tub, change into a pair of swimming trunks, coax him into the bathroom, lock the door...
...and wrestle.

Reminds me of giving cat bath.
The only way to do it is to put the cat in the stool along with pet shampoo and quickly close the lid. Wait until noise stops Flush three times to rinse. When raising the lid use a long stick and under no circumstances block the cats exit.

You never really understand just how strong these dogs are until you have to wrestle them! My goodness they are STRONG. The funny thing is you know they are still holding back their strength, too. After the bath, they feel so GOOD.

Man, it sure is somethin' how repellent clean water is to the beasties!
I don't think I've ever given the current two a whole bath complete with suds. They've certainly had spot cleanings. A roll in nasty, smelly stuff or getting muddy usually results in an impromptu dousing of cold water from the spigot!
