Within hours of the raid on Osama bin Laden's Pakistan compound, the CIA had used 21st technology to get "a virtually 100 percent DNA match" on the dead man. But something out of another century may come back to haunt the United States: the al-Qaida leader's burial at sea.

Conspiracy theorists on the left and right were quick to insist bin Laden was either still alive or had been dead for years, pouncing on the government's decision to slide the body of the world's most wanted man off a board into the Arabian Sea.

The burial at sea largely followed widely accepted interpretations of Islamic law taking care not to anger the mainstream Muslim community, said Ebrahim Moosa, a professor of Islamic studies at Duke University in North Carolina.

With only a small group of witnesses, a military officer read prepared religious remarks, which were translated into Arabic by a "native speaker," the official said.

The Islamic tradition of a quick burial was the subject of intense debate in Iraq in 2003 when U.S. forces embalmed the bodies of Saddam Hussein's two sons after they were killed in a firefight. Their bodies later were shown to media.

At this point I don't believe there is enough doubt in the world that Bin Laden is dead.

Why risk a photo being used as a recruiting tool and possible increased violence if there is really not that much doubt that he was killed.

Now if Al Qaeda starts releasing "new" tapes of Bin Laden and start claiming he's still alive, I say release the evidence then. Why rush? Most people seem to believe he's dead.

I am having a hard time believing Vinson had a PCR machine aboard. There is simply no need to have one. And there is no way they could have gotten a “positive DNA identification” without one in that short a period of time. I am calling BULLSHIT on that too.

We have one of them in my Microbiology lab and it goes for a cool $125,000. And that is just for the Analyzer. The Amplification machine is another $75,000. Even the DOD would have a hard time justifying that kind of expense for a machine which would get essentially no use.

Think about it...if he’s not dead, he’s been handed the propaganda opportunity of a lifetime. All he has to do is release a new video and prove to the world that he’s eluded the mighty USA once again. It would be his virtual apotheosis in the Arab world. So...the question becomes - if he’s not dead, what’s taking him so long? That’s all the proof you really need. Having said all that it would be nice to have a picture, lol.

I just find it odd that the whitehouse is releasing tons of details and Obama is taking credit for personally commanding the killing of Osama but he is shit skeered to show a picture for fear that it will hurt our tender sensibilities and foment the jihadis.

Well the Obamamedia has told us this happned a week ago, then told us it happened Sunday...

Osama’s wife was killed and used as a shield, and then told us no she wasn’t.

Osama lived in a posh mansion, and then tell us he had no phone, cable, internet etc...

And the really big one....he was carefully washed, wrapped in white linen and ‘eased’ into the sea.....

The Elite Navy 6 took Osama out without Pakistan’s help, then Hillary C. says Pakistan helped...

Single shot to the head, then they report it’s 2 shots to the head, then it’s 2 to the head, one in the chest etc..

Osama didn’t resist or fight back, then it was he went down shooting...

No proof, no pictures, no video. Not that I would believe it with all the friends they have in hollywood anyway...

The only questionable thing about it is how long has he been dead. Did obama just decide to capitalize on something that was already done? I tend to believe he was killed monday morning as reported. The only thing that shocks me is that the taliban or some other muslim dirtbag organization hasn't released a news bit on arab Tv claiming the compound was a nursery for orphaned babies and binladen was never there.
No way obama would risk lying about it and then have farty-pants binladen rear his head a week later. bambam would be the laughing stock of the planet... not that he isn't already
