WASHINGTON Knowing there would be disbelievers, the U.S. says it used convincing means to confirm Osama bin Laden's identity during and after the firefight that killed him. But the mystique that surrounded the terrorist chieftain in life is persisting in death.
Was it really him? How do we know? Where are the pictures?
Already, those questions are spreading in Pakistan and surely beyond. In the absence of photos and with his body given up to the sea, many people don't believe bin Laden the Great Emir to some, the fabled escape artist of the Tora Bora mountains to foe and friend alike is really dead.

He’s dead, Jim.

He may have been America's enemy number one, but after U.S. forces killed him in Pakistan, Osama bin Laden was afforded Islamic religious rites by the U.S. military as part of his surprise at-sea burial on Monday. The body was transported to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, which brought him to his final resting place somewhere in the north Arabian Sea. Not everyone believes the astronauts went to the moon...
I think he’s dead....I just don’t think it was OUR bullet that killed him. Can’t take credit for a kill if Osama’s own killed him. We know that was Osama’s order from years ago.
The decision to dispose of OBL’s body in that manner and in such haste without providing conclusive proof was foolish. Color me skeptical till evidence is released. Sorry but the press and Obama’s word aint cutting it.
He’s not only really dead, He’s really most sincerely dead.
Well, that would explain a lot of nObama's speech last night!
Some people think they’ve been abducted by space aliens while others think that fire can’t melt steel. There’s always that braindead 1% that just walk around among us waiting to vote.
He’s dead...but it would be nice to see some of that evidence.
Shot dead in Northwest Pakistan during a firefight.
Compound then secured.
Evidence seized.
Evac sent for.
Body tagged and bagged.
Flown to a US ship.
DNA testing done on body.
Religious ceremony held.
Body dumped at sea.
All in less than 24 hrs.
hmmmm.
When I first heard that they had dumped him in the sea, I thought this was the only bad idea of the whole operation. I think that they really needed to do the Uday/Kusay thing with him and put him on display for a day so that people could see the body and know he was dead. Now, it’s just our word for it, because the morons in the middle east are not going to believe in DNA. After that, then dump him in the ocean, hopefully a known shark infested section of the ocean.
yep
Well you see, whatever those convincing means were that were used, nobody has seen anything convincing yet other than talk.
No pics, even if there are pics, it would have been more convincing to make sure his features were intact, body thrown in the ocean before independent sources could verify.
What is convincing about any of that?
The fact that Obama and the democrats are playing this in a totally political way, with no verfiable proof, adds to the doubt.
Do I think troops are lying? No, I don’t. They took someone out.
Same m.f.’s that believe Obambi’s birth certificate is real.
God how they try my sense of humanity.
Trust me, if Navy SEALs come after you.....you’re dead. End of story.
What’s the rationale for not releasing the pics? Are they freaking nuts? DO NOT FEED THE CONSPIRACY KOOKS. These are not “birthers,” this is vastly more serious, it won’t be a mere “distraction,” people will die!!
Is anybody on the non-military side THINKING???
