I have fond memories of Tinker AFB. Years ago a dear friend was an instructor for the FAA. She took me through the base, and FAA HDQ at that time with no clearance except her word. Couldn’t do that now.
Had a great time. We brought a guy in full Darth Vader costume and the R2D2 droid( remotely controlled by me) through the offices. Classrooms emptied, took many pictures. The base personnel were great. I was nervous about being stopped and asked for papers.
Again- couldn’t do that now.
