WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is appealing to lawmakers to continue the spirit of national unity that followed Osama bin Laden's death.
At a White House dinner Monday for congressional leaders, Obama said the nation is experiencing the same type of rallying together that occurred after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Some Republicans, including those who'd like to deny Obama a second term, praised the president for the military operation that ended with bin Laden's burial at sea.

Did you listen to Obama's speech? He took full credit for everything. He didn't acknowledge Bush except to insinuate that GWB dropped the ball and that he picked it up.

Obama made a big mistake, he should have blown OBL to smithereens and never announced it to the US or the world. He had to prove he’s the big cheese and stir up a hornet’s net of crazy terrorist.

I’m sure GWB will graciously ask Obama if he can attend, but I am also sure that Obama will not allow him to share the spotlight.
GWB might get the opportunity to view the Messiah from the popcorn gallery, but I don’t think Obama will allow him on the stage. It is not in his nature. Obama actually tried to get the Justice Department to prosecute the White House lawyers who said that waterboarding KSM was not torture. Obama had the CIA operatives who sanctioned GITMO and the enhanced interrogation techniques which led to this end investigated for possible criminal charges.

Ironic that he practically crucified our interrogators at Gitmo; and now the ‘messiah” reaps the rewards of THEIR work. He talks of unity.........when he stops wasting trillions, when he unleashes American oil and gas resources, when we stop paying 5 bucks for gas, when we abolish Obama care, when we get Americans back to work, when we do away with socialism, when we start appointing non commie sensible judges, when we rein in the EPA and on and on.../ In short don’t think the military alone can bail his sorry rear end out.
