I'm recalling threats of major terrorist retaliation, to the tune of devices already in place, should bin Laden be killed, which was the accepted reasoning in some quarters as to just why his death in the cave complex at Tora Bora was never reported.

Is this a point of concern now, or was it merely one of many rumors flying at the time?
