The ivory-billed woodpecker was thought to have duck-like flaps in which the wings remain extended throughout the flap cycle. One of the videos revealed radically different flaps in which the wings are folded completely closed in the middle of the upstroke. The images from the video show the wing motion from two angles. The photo in the upper right, which was obtained by James Tanner in 1939, shows an Ivory-billed Woodpecker in flight and contains a clue suggesting that there had been a misconception about the flap style. Looks a lot like a Pileated woodpecker.

Another false sighting like we had here in Arkansas and they spent at least $10 Million looking for it.
The only known recordings of this bird were made during the Depression on the most primitive of recording machinery.
No amount of Digital enhancement will help that recording.
All of these people have not found one carcass or anything else to prove this bird is alive and well.
They all want it so bad they have convinced themselves what they think they have seen is the bird itself.

If there's a "holy grail" for birders, this would be it.
Sweet!
