I’m quite sure he will and I have never said he wouldn’t, even though he deserves being booted on ENERGY POLICY ALONE!(a frontal attack on the American economy)

As I just explained to another poster, doubters don’t necessarily think they can get Obama out. They don’t even necessarily think they know where he comes from. We merely DOUBT.

But we can expose his lies, yell and holler about his anti-Americanism which goes right along with the suspicion of Zer0 as a foreigner. Or at least an alien thinker.

If you think he will stay in office after 11/2012 you’ll get a lot of argument about that.

If you do believe that, you obviously see more in Obama than most conservatives do.

What I see in Obama is “duh...LOSING!”

And we doubters will do all we can to help that along.

Brilliant, thanks so much for posting this, lets hope it gets to Steyn. He’s woefully ignorant on Vatell and NBC. I hate that as well since I am a huge Steyn supporter!! I like 99% of what he does.

Someone has convinced many of the powers that be that there would be blood in the streets if the dear one was impeached over the eligibility issue. This clown has gotten more passes due to race than imaginable!! It has to end somewhere or he will be potus for life.

I think Mark got a memo from someone-—maybe Mark Levin or a staffer-—and he prepped himself on what they gave him.

He jumped right onto the 1790 Naturalization Act, didn’t he? Too bad it was superceded just 5 years later by the 1795 law.

Mark seemed rather uncomfortable and started to blow his stack. Could have been Alinsky-style tactics or it could have been some frustration. Mark, after all, is a Canadian citizen and maybe he feels a little funny making authoritative statements about our constitution.

I’m familiar with some issues in some other countries but it PAINS me to offer comments about the way they do things. It’s just not an American’s business. I’ll just generalize that “socialism sucks” or something like that and let it go.

Maybe Mark was feeling something like that, who will ever know?

That may well be true but I have to believe that economic interests take priority.

The FCC, which has some very radical members, can make things very hot for the conservative outlets.

Look how “moderate” Fox has become in the last year or so.

I can’t even stand to listen to those RINOs anymore.

True enough, I have been in radio since 78 and there is a lot that goes on in the background that we never hear about.

I think Steyn had a tough time with the topic. As you said he is Canadian.

But, moreover, I think he has bought into the line that we have too much at stake with all the other issues and the demise of the country by obama to pursue the birther agenda.

Which is exactly what the regime wants,IMHO.

They were very slick in setting all this up. They sorta boxed us in. If we duck the issue they get away with an illegal candidate and if we pursue it they play the race card and every other agenda they can dream up. We sorta lose either way unless we get a real breakthrough and then they threaten to burn the town down.

YOU CANNOT DISCUSS NATURAL BORN CITIZENSHIP without discussing Emerich de Vattel’s “Laws of Nations” (1758).

I think this is the key point or a very important point. If you state that the Constitution is fuzzy on a meaning then you have to find what the original intent was or the prevailing influence of the certain thought was. This was de Vattel for this subject, not all subjects mind you, but this one. If you are going to ignore that this is the case then you are being intellectually dishonest. This leads to cowardice. It is a tough thing to admit that many were duped including ourselves.

Secondly, Mark's suggestion that since Obama's mother was American and she gave birth to Obama in Hawaii is good enough is to not only strip a man of his lineage but the argument is weak at best. Stalin, Castro or Osama could knock up an American girl in the US and then have him/her eligible for the POTUS? Insane!

Also, has he ever really thought why the Founders chose 14 years a resident as an accompanying requirement? It is to hopefully help create a sense of loyalty to America in accordance with the other requirements. They work together. What was so special about the age of 35 back then? Most men were actual men by the age or 16 when our Country was founded. Alexander Hamilton would be considered a mere boy in today's age but would have whipped the pants off anyone today with regards to being accomplished.

Basically, my argument boils down to this...The Founders wanted POTUS nominees by these three exclusive requirements, the most exclusive being the NBC, to ensure the least amount of foreign influence to be able to become the Commander-in-Chief of their newly founded nation. These three requirements ensure the most American blood as eligible of becoming the POTUS.

Very good understanding on your part.

I don’t know if it was to you—I’ve been posting a lot today-—but I mentioned to someone that the NBC issue is not some antique concept from days of yore but it is supremely relevant with all the immigration we are faced with today, some of which immigrants have no identification or loyalty with the US whatsover...and neither will their kids, probably.

So let’s go with strict construction where possible and analysis of the Founders’ deliberations and their sources and we will be able to avoid another Obama problem.

“Which is exactly what the regime wants, IMHO.”

Sticking with the strict rules of constitutional government is the only way to go for me. And I think it is exactly what is expected of conservatives.

Damn the media, damn the race-obsessed liberals, and damn thick-skulled “independents.” They will never see things our way no matter what we do.

If we stick to our guns we will be respected more and have more success in the long run.

Kudos to you and the others for your analyses.

I was very disappointed with Mark Steyn, for his misinformation and belittling attitude.

Mark could have acted more diplomatically with the caller and let him present his understanding of NBC and eligibility without the put-downs.

As a Canadian, he would have been perfectly justified in saying “American constitutional law really isn’t my specialty” and no one would have attacked him for it anymore than if he had begged off discussing brain surgery.

Steyn did what he did and it’s over. But I’ll bet he’ll bone up on the topic and not be such a putz if the situation ever repeats itself.

He’s very bright-—just extremely misinformed.

Steyn: Don’t end Obama’s presidency on the birther ‘rinky-dink technicality’
http://dailycaller.com/2011/04/28/steyn-dont-end-obamas-presidency-on-the-birther-rinky-dink-technicality/
Published: 2:50 PM 04/28/2011 | Updated: 10:11 PM 04/28/2011

Many anti-birther movement crusaders insist the controversy over Barack Obama’s birthplace is motivated by nothing but a deep-seated hatred for the president. These so-called “birthers,” they say, want to have Obama removed from office at any cost.

However, Mark Steyn, a conservative columnist and substitute host for Rush Limbaugh’s Thursday show, argues using the birther argument to attempt to end Obama’s presidency is the wrong way to go. You want it to end after his policies are discredited, Steyn argues.

“One reason why I don’t want to get into, don’t particularly never got excited about the birther business – I don’t want this president discredited and kicked out on a technicality,” Steyn said. “This isn’t like when Snoop Dogg found himself up on that murder rap and got acquitted on a technicality. I don’t want this president to be convicted on technical grounds. I don’t want this presidency to end on the technicality of whether he was born in Hawaii, or whether he was born in Mombasa, or whether he was born on the planet Krypton. I want these ideas to die – the ideas to which he got elected, because these ideas are killing your country.”

Steyn explained the worldview Obama holds isn’t foreign because it is prevalent among the academic elites in the United States.

“And in that sense, Obama is not a foreigner,” Steyn said. “He’s like millions and millions of the Americans he’s lived among in Hyde Park – Chicago, at Harvard, at Columbia, at Occidental. These are the people who take these ideas about economic growth, the inequities of American foreign policy – they’re all entirely normal. This is the swamp in which he’s been marinated his entire life.”

Listen: http://dailycaller.com/2011/04/28/steyn-dont-end-obamas-presidency-on-the-birther-rinky-dink-technicality/

Thus, to defeat these ideas and not have them resurface, it is best to defeat Obama politically as opposed to defeating him on a technical issue over whether or not he is qualified to be president.

“And what’s embarrassing about it is not that it’s entirely foreign to the United States, but that it’s so normal to a huge swathes of American elites,” he added. “All the views Obama holds are entirely normal to huge swathes of the American elites. Those ideas have to be discredited. It’s not enough to end his presidency simply on some rinky-dink technicality like where the guy happened to be born. That’s my view on the thing.”

What I see as great fun at this point, is to see how many times Obama and company are willing to make asses of themselves trying and always failing to pull rabbits out of their hats.
