EDITORIAL: Admit it, Obamanomics has failed

Forecasts predict no economic improvement in 2011

The only thing dropping faster than President Obama’s poll numbers is America’s economic future. Only one in five believe the country is headed in the right direction, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday. More than half of those responding to Gallup’s queries believe we are either in a recession or depression. The grim mood reflects growing disenchantment with administration policies that have sucked the life out of the economy.

Reports piled up yesterday casting further doubt on the prospects for recovery. Just as many people stood in line last week to file an initial jobless claim as did so the same time last year. The dollar finds itself in a free fall against other currencies and gold. The measure of the growth in the country’s productive output fell to 1.8 percent in the first quarter of this year. The Federal Reserve is not hopeful. Chairman Ben S. Bernanke dialed back real gross-domestic-product growth expectations for the rest of the year from 3.4 percent to 3.1 percent. Thanks primarily to sky-high gasoline and energy prices, the Fed’s best guess is that consumer prices will rise 2.1 percent, up from the Fed’s inflation prediction of 1.3 percent made in January.

None of these developments are accidental in an administration that has actively sought to raise energy prices. “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe,” Steven Chu told the Wall Street Journal in an interview less than six months before he became Mr. Obama’s energy secretary. Mission accomplished, Mr. Chu...

Zeronomics isn’t meant to help. It is redistribution. Legalized bribery on a massive scale. Punishment of the producers.

Well, the liberal view is that the economy is improving, as unemployment ticked down to 8.8%. It’s improving, says the president.

And the liberal view is that things would have been even worse without Porkulus.

And since Obama inherited a mess, he needs more time to fix it, yadda, yadda, yadda.

This could be how Democrats campaign in 2012, on the idea that as bad as things are, it would be worse without Porkulus. And, the idea of blame the mess leftover from Bush will still be popular with liberals in 2012.

The elite liberal enviro-radical base wants higher gas prices, because they think we need clean green energy. They want to see Obama stop the rising of the oceans, and allow the planet to heal.

He’s got to run on something and I believe it’ll be along those lines. Fortunately I doubt he’ll be able to sell it to the numbers he did before, especially the Inds.

Admit it, Obamanomics has failed

Not so fast!

Obama promises that, if you give him another chance with a second term, that things will be much better. Go ahead, ask him.

Besides, it's just that the economy he "inherited" from Bush was so bad, that it's going to take at least 2 Obama terms to turn things around. Go ahead, ask him.

Furthermore, with more government spending, and higher taxes, and higher prices for everything and more government control of the economy, things are bound to turn around. They always do with socialism; go ahead, ask the socialists... ummmm... I mean, the liberals.

“From About.com: A recession is usually preceded by several quarters of slowing but positive growth. Therefore, a recession is really defined as a period when economic growth slows, businesses stop expanding, employment falls, unemployment rises, and housing prices decline.”

This is the USA’s GDP the last two quarters.

“Real gross domestic product — the output of goods and services produced by labor and property located in the United States — increased at an annual rate of 1.8 percent in the first quarter of 2011 (that is, from the fourth quarter to the first quarter) according to the “advance” estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the fourth quarter, real GDP increased 3.1 percent.”

From the MSM:

Everything is hunky dory. 178 people were killed today in a tornado and Obama was upset because one of his favorite golf courses is in a town that was hit.

Under Bush, GDP went up almost 5% a year and it was the worst economy since Hoover.

None of these developments are accidental

That's exactly why Obama has not "failed."

Failure implies you don't accomplish what you purposely set out to accomplish.

We see the influence of the Soros hand in what is happening to America today. Tavis Smiley's interview with him on PBS this week exposes his so-called "open society" views, and provides a glimpse into the mind of this puppeteer and would-be controller of America's future. See

Please note that these numbers are provided by the administration and his lackeys. As poor as they are, they are probably inflated and will be quietly corrected downward later.

Obamanomics has been a rousing success. BO’s/BS’s goal is to control every aspect of people’s lives. It was never about improving the economy.

Failure implies you don't accomplish what you purposely set out to accomplish.

A very good point and so true in Obama's case.

Obamunism hasn’t failed.

It wasn’t meant to help America.

It has done exactly what Obama and his puppeteers intended.
