Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey tells Newsmax that the 2012 elections will leave the GOP in control of the presidency, Senate, and House, and tea party activists will oust timid Republicans who arent committed to small government.
The Texas Republican, chairman of FreedomWorks and a patriarch of the tea party movement, calls President Barack Obama a romantic egalitarian who is quite confused, asserts that Obamacare is a monstrosity, and says Rep. Paul Ryans plan to reduce spending is a bold initiative but doesnt go far enough.
Armey served in the House from 1985 to 2003 and is the co-author of Give Us Liberty: A Tea Party Manifesto.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, he says FreedomWorks which claims 700,000 members is gearing up for the 2012 elections and he is confident about the outcome.
We are searching for the right candidates for the next election cycle, he says.
We will make big changes in the next election cycle, bigger in fact than we did this cycle, because well take the Senate, well take the White House.

I agree. hopefully people have learned their lesson as to how dangerous DUMocRATS really are to our freedom.
The GOP will sweep the last remnants of conservatism out of the party in 2012?
I agree with Armey. The news of the day that really matters is not the Obama birth certificate, not the swap between the CIA & DOD, it is two things, the terrible damage to humanity and property caused by violent weather across the nation and the return to full blown depression caused by Obama and the Federal Reserve. Obama for high gas prices and the Fed for cheap money. Hello, inflation, hello more joblessness, hello high gasoline prices, hello high food prices, hello real estate devaluation. Goodbye Obama and the Democrat Party!!!
I’m wary of Armey. I recall him not liking Palin....am I correct?
One night watch CBS, NBC, or ABC nightly news. It's all about what the Republicans are going to take away from citizens. Combined they get over 20 million viewers per night.
The only thing the GOP is going to sweep in 2012 will be the convention floor, if they don’t pull their collective heads out of their butts and end the internal bickering over who will run.
Add Ron Paul and his followers to the mix and we will see another 4 for Obama, which just may degrade the nation beyond repair.
After Armey left Congress, he became a professor and faced charges of sexual harassment. One coed supposedly transferred to another college because of him and Armey ended up divorcing his long-time wife and marrying a former student so apparently the charges were true.
The Boner Eunuch must be replaced with a Conservative who actually wants to save the country and wants to save our freedom. Boner is a pathetic RINO joke, IMO.
Supporting any of the MSM heralded RINOs and potentials (Huck, Mitt, Newt et al) is failure, plain and simple. Ideals and principles mean something. It doesn't mean you take second, third or fourth bes.
Ron Paul’s followers are not voting for Obama. Not sure how Ron Paul would be responsible for those outcomes.
The alphabet networks are patetically short on real news.
Will and Kate are of prime importance.
I remember when Dan Blather started every news cast with how awful the economy was uner Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2.
There is NEVER any reference to the horrors of the Obama economy.
The problem for them is that Americans are EXPERIENCING the horrors of the Obama economy. That can’t be whitewashed.
I think the opening statement was fine. You don’t have to listen to or follow the rest. I don’t trust him either, but I also feel like a rape victim from the McCain humiliation. I will not succumb again, ever.
Both parties suck.
Let's start with Boner. Primary his weepy butt the heck out, and run someone who has a spinal column.
If they run another geezer who’s never used the internet it’s over.
Today’s POTUS elections are on par with American Idol and the electorate are uninformed idiots with short memories.
The question is, what will life be like for the average American in the fall of 2012?
I don’t get your comments. The Democrats had an all out war for the nomination in 2008 that went into June of the election year. Why would our party need to all decide on a nominee more than a year before then? The primary is the time to have a clash of ideas and personalities.
Is that true? I hadn’t heard about Armey divorcing and marrying a student. Source?
“Add Ron Paul and his followers to the mix and we will see another 4 for Obama”
I was sick to see that he’s going to run again. And even though he’s doing so as a Repub, when he doesn’t get the nomination, his fans will protest en masse and probably either stay home on election day out of spite (like last time) or write his name on the ballot (like last time).
