The white horses are Windsor greys.
The brown horses are Cleveland Bays.
A lot of the commentary afterwards was done by Randy from ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ on TLC. I like him. He’s a cutie.
Who’s the one wearing a hat that looks like a reindeer?
If I were Queen I would make Eugenie take that horrible hat off!
Most of us do have a wedding kiss but in a very, very formal service, it just isn’t done. At least, this is what I have been told.
My hubby and I waited until we were private as we wanted a longer, more intimate and passionate kiss for our first one as husband and wife. It just was something between us and not to be shared with a group!
Princess Anne walks like she just got off a horse.
You usually here the anthem during the Olympics and such when their athletes win. It’s not your fault England sucks at sports :P
Seriously though, I love both versions, but - the UK National anthem is of course iconic.
Hope you are enjoying the day :)
Cheers,
Euro.
I just got into work, but was watching the wedding before I left the house.
Did anyone catch the strange moment on the CBS coverage of guests entering the Abbey, when a man looking remarkably like Mohammed al-Fayed walked in? Katie Couric was flabbergasted, as were some of the British correspondents with her.
One of them later said it was allegedly a man who looked just like him, but I wonder?
That’s one of Fergie’s girls, Beatrice, who always wears atrocious hats.
LOL.
She has nice skin and a fairly nice face, lovely white hair, but really, though, she needs a modern hairdo.
#604 nailed it. That was Eugenie wearing the 22-point stag.
LOL!
Thanks! I’ll go google them.
They imported horses from Ohio?
Post of the day! LOL!
Nope, Clevelands are a British breed.
Oops, sorry I might have got that wrong. Beatrice or Eugenie, I don’t know.
I guess weddings are the only time where ladies can wear those extraordinary things. I guess they may as well seize the opportunity!
Kate Middleton was wearing a tiara today loaned to her by Prince Williams grandmother the Queen.
The little known halo tiara was made by Cartier in 1936 and bought by Queens father, then the Duke of York, for the Queen Mother, then the Duchess of York, St Jamess Palace said.
It was purchased three weeks before the duke succeeded his brother King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne as King George VI.
The tiara was given to the Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, by her mother on her 18th birthday.
Kate used the loan of the tiara, a tradition at royal weddings, to signify the time-honoured custom of wearing something borrowed on her wedding day.
Kates bridal train is exceptionally modest compared to many former royal brides, measuring just two metres and 70 centimetres.
Rest at link
This tiara belongs(ed?) to Begum Aga Khan (I'm not sure which one though).
Halo tiara, Cartier 1934.
Platinum diamond 'old'and 'baguette'. The upper part forms a range of stylized lotus flowers, while the lower part, with its zig-zag patterns, can be removed to form a bandeau. The tiara was sold to His Highness Begum Aga Khan. Credits: N. Welsh, Collection Cartier

Awwwww
(I think that's when he told her how beautiful she looks)
I love the little twinkle in his eye and Cheshire grin when he looks at her.
Well that was just magnificant.
Perfectlly executed. Nobody does a wedding like the Brits.
HA! what a loser....after so many winners! Glad she was relegated to watch on TV
Just back at computer & a lot to catchup on thread later today. I just parked in front of the TV & took it all in. Watching the only channel I have which is NBC & it was good coverage.
I know you will have have some interesting comments & info.
They are awfully good at the pomp, circumstance, pageantry, tradition and ceremony.
