Weve been told that former Ark. Gov. Mike Huckabee, a rumored candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is giving his former S.C. supporters the nod to seek work on other presidential campaigns. The word is that hes told South Carolina staffers that they have his blessing for them to peddle their wares elsewhere. If this is as true as it appears, its the second major shakeup. Monday, Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour surprised everyone but himself when he announced that he would not seek the GOP nod.
That has been my biggest fear. The only existing candidate that I can even stand is Daniels. But he has no interest in social issues and is only focused on the economy. Not sure that he is a RINO so much but rather he just has no interest in abortion, immigration and other issues I care about. Or he is a RINO - not sure and it doesn’t matter because he will be no help on those issues. Nice guy but would need a Trump gonad transplant and leg transplants (to increase his stature by a foot or so) for him to even have a shot. There must be someone else
If they do it try being a Libertarian. It is fun. You can live like a Millionaire and not worry about losing your money. The goal of a good Libertarian is to die owing the IRS as much as possible.
Good. I think his strengths lay elsewhere.
Yes, it’s me, really and truly, it’s your old FRiend ! :-)
Huckabee doesn’t excite me. Seems like a nice guy.
I’d far rather have him making decisions than BHO, but that’s not the point.
Huck, yeah. But there have been a few others who have not announced or said they are not running.
lol on your description of the hapless huckster
Glenn Beck is an aspiring preacher while Huckster’s preaching days are the past. Plus Glenn being Mormon was prolly pissed how Huck conspired with McCain to torpedo Mitt Romney in 2008
I would like a real choice and not trying to pick between the lesser of two or three RINOS..thank you.
If this is true, more power to Gov. Huckabee...well, let me restate. Thanks Huck.
you’s guys being awful quiet on BC day. Wonder what the new game will be around here now that we are no longer in BC time, but have moved to AD (after disclosure).
Maybe peeples will get interested in IOWA. (Or SC.) Or something to do with ‘12.
This would be great news. No Hucksters!

Yes, pardoning murderers so they can kill again is his strongest virtue.
I agree with you about Bachmann, but she would make an excellent VP candidate, as would Col. West.
I am now, and have always been a Palin supporter. I think she has the best chances of winning, not because she is like Reagan in all her positions, but she has a quality that Reagan had. She has the ability to go around the MSM (or over if you prefer). She can and has taken her message directly to the American people. Her enemies underestimate her in this regard, and every time they think they have a new attack on her she uses it to speak common sense to the public.
She has been very smart on the Trump B/C issue. She didn’t upset the “Birthers” by by commenting that (paraphrasing) “there were a lot of questions Americans wanted answers to, but she also took a sit back, and enjoy the popcorn attitude that a lot of us took on FR. Now that Obozo has released something, no matter which way it plays with the public, she can step up and forward the fight. Brilliant, IMHO. I also believe Trump, and Palin have mutual respect for each other, and when she “officially” comes in, it would not surprise me to see Trump strategically pull out of the race.
The only way I don’t see that is if what has been said about him by some on this forum is true, and that he intends to try and split the party. I don’t think that’s the case though, and I read somewhere that he has all but made the statement that he would not go Independent if a solid candidate beat him in the primaries. I think he was speaking of Sarah, and might be trying to set himself up as her VP choice.
Maybe I have rose colored glasses on, but I’ve had a good feeling about Palin since she was asked to be VP, and if McCain’s people hadn’t gagged her, she might be VP now.
I have also always believed, contrary to what some people say is the Obozo’s amazing campaigning skills, that if we had run a strong candidate in ‘08, someone who distinguished themselves from not only the socialist that Dummy is, but had distinguished themselves from the Compassionate Conservative side of Bush, who without a whimper, crawled into a corner in his second term, and allowed the media to kick him until he was too bloody to recover, they would have won.
Very good post!
He said that he wasn't ready, and I accept that. That in no way diminishes him for a later run in my estimation, or a run for Senator now, or Gov. whenever.
This will set afloat a large number of South Carolinian Baptists to find another primary candidate.
Perry?
If Palin doesn’t run, I have a sneaky feeling it will be Perry, and Palin will back him.
