Australian PM Gets Up Close to N.Korea

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and her partner Tim Mathieson visit a building in the truce village of Panmunjom on Sunday as a North Korean soldier looks on. Gillard is visiting South Korea from April 23-25 to mark the 60th anniversary of Australia's troop dispatch to the Korean War and the 50th anniversary of the start of Korea's diplomatic relations with Australia. /Newsis

Very embarrassing photo for NK, but I am sure the guy whose ear is glued to the window honestly would believe that he is doing his “patriotic duty.”

Very wierd, unusual behaviour on the Norks part.
It had to be officially sanctioned, did you notice
the video camera?

LOL...brings back memories. I commanded an MP company relatively close to the DMZ. A couple of my lieutenants had a photo of themselves from PMJ very similar to that, with a nork guard peering in the windows behind them. As one was getting ready to rotate stateside, I had him send a sponsorship letter to his replacement, and he included the pic, telling him it was our company orderly room ;-)

The rest of them are from Yonhap News site, using search on news photos. You might get most of them using google-search with typing two keywords “Gillard” and “Panmunjom”, then doing image-search.

Note the VERY *NOT* ACCIDENTAL EXTENDED MIDDLE FINGER by DPRK Soldier in Photo Number 3, third one from the top.

They would have a ax chopping melee if the ROK soldiers on guard duty or a tourist from the South side were to do this in the JSA area towards the North, and endless diatribes on Pyongyang Radio afterwards.

Hypocritical little bastards. Oh, and hot shot to boot, what with the battle helmets on replacing regular Norkie caps.

I guess the USS Pueblo taught those guys some good passive/aggressive behavior after all.
