I am re-reading Atlas Shrugged after over 50 years, and I am seeing the things Rand wrote about taking shape before my eyes. Saw them coming all along, but hoped I was wrong. I was not wrong. And because people didn’t want to hear it then, you are right, people will fall right into line and take what they can get! Disgusting! Immoral! Stupid! Unforgivable! And I think we’ve passed the point of no return, may God have mercy on our souls!

It is to the point now that ONLY the leftists can speak openly. Anyone with an opposing point of veiw is deemed a radical or terrorist. At least according to big sis.
I look at Vietnam as somewhat of a model of how life continues even after a nation falls to communism. They had such a strong free market instinct that the black market thrived despite attempts by the communists to kill it.
I read every day but haven’t picked up a book in quite some time. “Atlas Shrugged” keeps coming up.
I believe those same words, or something very much like them, were used by those who rebelled against the USA in 1861.
Oh, and only a house divided AGAINST ITSELF cannot stand.

Thank you, I was in the midst of talking with my daughter and only half recalled that saying. Back to my original point, we as a nation of patriots must unite against a central government that will dictate our day to day lives. That was the premis of my original statement.
Required reading as I see it. My youngest wishes to read female points of veiw on conservative issues. I have given her Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter books. She has yet to read them.
See my post #46 and remember they lost. As it stands now, I believe, to take up arms in resistance to our government would be as futile a gesture as that of the Libyan rebels. Plus, no outside power would come to support our rebels since the world is aligned with the Obama regime. It would be a slaughter of Biblical proportions.
They are given a pass. Any profane of liable statement is not held accountable. The left is part of the government now, they will not be held accountable, only us.

This entire thread has been, to me at least, a call to the awakening of our citizens. let us not lose sight of our goal.
