We are shocked by the video from a Baltimore franchised restaurant showing an assault. This incident is unacceptable, disturbing and troubling. McDonald’s strives to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who visits. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of customers and employees in our restaurants. We are working with the franchisee and the local authorities to investigate this matter.
Mine was a sarcasm, to me it makes no difference which ghetto MacDonalds it was.
That post is in some sense correct regarding the attack, but IF true, there is a defense aspect. I just think IF this was the story that first came out, the reaction would have been much different.

If you read there msg you’ll note that they make the point that this is a franchise not a company owned store. That makes something of a difference. What will be interesting to see is McDonald’s instructions to employees and management on how to handle attacks on customers and staff. There were no weapons in the video so it’s not like the 2 attackers had guns. The male employees could have surrounded the poor victim when she was in the area near the restrooms while the manager (guy in blue shirt) dealt with the two vicious thugs. My guess is that McDonald’s policy is for employees not to get involved (workers comp reasons and may bring McDonald’s into a law suit when it’s just a minor skirmish between two patrons not something like this.)
Does anyone know if the woman who was savagely beaten is OK?
Were racial epithets used by those 2 attackers? If they were and the races were reversed extra charges of a hate crime would be applied. We’re racial epithets used by the McDonald’s workers or in any way were their comments supportive of the attackers? I heard the comments about the seizure and the police being on the way but I had trouble with most of the audio on the video.
Having just returned from Canada, I will say that Tim Horton's is awesome. Wish they had them here in our neck of the woods.
I remember that, I think 21 people were killed in that, it was horrible.

I watched the video. My impression is the white girl who was attacked has been brain damaged and was having convulsions on the floor next to the wall/trash can. Attempted murder. Returning repeated to kick her on the floor was intended to kill.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Holder provides the full force of DOJ legal defense to make sure these two upstanding young women get all the legal protection they need.
Well that would make it a hate crime since the transgendered are a protected class. That said the hair is still there all through the beating including after they hauled her toward the door by her hair.

McDonald’s statement says it’s a franchise.
When I was in Baltimore maybe four years ago, we stayed on the wharf in a very nice hotel but were told in no uncertain terms to not go outside once it got dark.
The affirmative action appointee Holder will not see an reason to investigate an obvious hate crime.

This is sincerely asked - Defense in what sense of the word? That the attackers were defending themselves from the victim? The details are still forthcoming, but from what I saw, the attackers had nothing to fear and knew it.
In regard to the thread you referenced - a thread discussing a ridiculously politically correct policy change by a governmental agency, is not equivalent to a thread about the horrific beating of a human being.
Regardless of who or what the victim was, it changes nothing about the behavior of the attackers and the bystanders; and may God bless the older woman. Her courage hopefully saved that persons life.

Nope. Sorry. I feel exactly the same way whether it was a woman or a man. You’ve posted this sentiment at least three times now, insinuating that Freepers will be fully on board with those attackers now that the victim may be a ‘tranny’. Just what are you trying to accomplish here?
Hate to say it, but...
Only the attackers are culpable. The employees are not trained nor equipped to get involved physically, and (depending on jurisdiction) not required to summon help (which, as we know will arrive only when the attack is long over). I don’t see what the employees did legally wrong (they didn’t do anything right either).
One more reason to train and equip yourself for unexpected violence.

I've never understood why there is such a thing as "attempted murder". In my opinion, whether you were successful or not in carrying out a murder is irrelevant...the bottom line is you wanted to kill the person. "Attempted" murder should carry the same sentence as murder. These Hos were going to drag that girl outside and kill her on the street, or drive off and kill her and dump the body. They should be tried and executed.
