Donald Trump, Street Fighting Man
American Thinker ^ | April 21, 2011 | Robin of Berkeley

Posted on 04/22/2011 5:29:55 AM PDT by RobinMasters

I love Sarah. Michele Bachmann is, to me, a gift to humankind. In fact, I like most of the potential conservative candidates for president.

However, my number one choice for the Republican candidate for President? Donald Trump -- or a Trump-like man. A strong man; that is, someone willing to get into the ring and get his hands dirty. A Street Fighting Man.

Now it pains me enormously to admit this. Up until three years ago, I was a progressive, and a big fan of identity politics. In fact, I gave some of my hard-earned money to Hillary Clinton's campaign, in part, because she's a woman.

I've changed since then, and no longer vote along gender or ethnic lines. However, my eschewing identity politics isn't the reason I support someone like Trump. It's because conservatives need someone who can go head-to-head with Obama -- and win. We don't need a David against their Goliath. We need a Goliath of our own.

Certainly, there are many strong female politicians out there, the so-called Mama Grizzlies. Some of them, for instance, Gov. Jan Brewer, have bigger cojones than many of the conservative pols. The question is not whether or not these women are formidable. It's whether they could win.

Should be interesting to hear all the “Trump is Soros” and “Trump is DNC Plant” posts....

Wish that Michelle Bachmann would get serious about Obama Eligibility....

This fellow is on a journey. Progress is being made. Stepping away from Hillary is good, but the author must eventually come to realize that Trump is a halfway point. Trump performs a valuable service by helping people question exactly who Obama really is. But Trump is not a good choice for president. The author must continue on their journey and eventually settle on real Conservative politics.

How about this - if the Donald is such a fighter, then why do his supporters defend him giving so much in campaign donations to Democrats with the excuse that such is a cost of doing business? A real figher would stand up to that kind of legal graft and tell the Dems to get stuffed.

All Trump has done is flap his gums. He has not debated, he has not stood up to the liberal smear machine, he has not taken on an entrenched political establishment, he has never run for office let alone win an election - the hard stuff of politics. Somewhere along the line, consertative birthers got so immersed in their own cause that they are willing to line up behind a NE liberal who shares little of their political convictions and shows little history of any serious convictions of his own, other than feeding his own ego.

The left degrades and menaces any woman who stands in their way. Bachmann's abuse has already started, and it will get even worse should she run for President.

However, it's not just conservative women that the left will eat alive. It is any nice guy or gal, anyone who plays by the rules.

Mitt Romney, that wholesome Mormon; Tim Pawlenty, the soft spoken Midwesterner; Paul Ryan, the brainiac; Huckabee, the pious.

Obama and his henchman will chew them up for breakfast and spit them out before noon.

*****

I know a lot of people here are anti-Trump, but I'm enjoying watching him unload on obama.

He argues back when he's interviewed. I saw him do it when he was on the Today Show and on CNN.

People who never heard of the BIRTH CERTIFICATE issue now know about it.

Personally, I doubt that Trump will go to Iowa and campaign.

I don’t think she has sought out the right people to properly educate her about who Obama is, the REAL dope on Obama, not the cherry flavored Google version.

I don’t have any faith in her, in another time I think she may find her destiny, right now isn’t it.

And the Donald has won exactly what in politics? Other than face time on TV?

As in any campaign, it always comes down to alternatives.

Will Trump be a better or worse candidate than other Republicans?

If he is not, he will lose.

If he wins the primary, there is no question he will be better than Obama.

Wish that Michelle Bachmann would get serious about Obama Eligibility.... Wait till THE book is read by a few million citizens. Many will get serious if it contains what we speculated way back when Corsi was in Kenya.

————————————————>

I hope he does go to Iowa to campaign. Trump is the only candidate that will rattle the GOP cages enough to nominate a Tea Party conservative.

The alternatives are a GOP nominee like McCain or one of the other deadly 2008 candidates

If this occurs Donald won't be the Spoiler because the Tea Party will put a Third Party candidate on the Ticket

or

The Spoiler will be those of us that just stay at home and don't vote. I am not going to waste my vote on a guy like McCain, Boehner, Newt or Romney!

JMHO

Trump is a breathe of fresh air, a fighter willing to speech the unPC truth. If Sara stays out and West can’t get mo then Trump is the one. At the moment those 3 are the ONLY ones worth voting for.

So far, all Trump has done is flip-flop on some critical issues to conservatives, lie through his teeth and been successful in tricking a bunch of fools into believing his BS. Sounds like the same old Donald Trump to me.

The problem is not Donald Trump’s past Liberalism

The problem is the current GOP and GOP Media’s drift to Liberalism

Seems that the ones complaining so much about Trump’s liberal past....seem to have no problem with the GOP and GOP Media’s drifting towards liberalism.

Will you stand up to the GOP as they attack those who want Obama’s Long Form BC released, and, Obama Eligibility addressed? Will you stand up to the GOP as they push another Liberal RINO for their Presidential candidate. Will you stand up to the GOP Media who attacks “Birthers” and pushes Liberal RINOs

Will you admit you voted for Soros-funded John McCain in 2008?

Donald Trump has some major baggage....compared to what the GOP and GOP Media is going to push on us....about as much liberal baggage as what GOP HQ will produce

Not in the primary, moron, and that's the entire point here. You Trumpettes erect strawman after strawman to try and pretend the Donald is anything but a NE liberal. All because some of you have gotten so wrapped up in the birther movement that a shyster like the Donald can pull the wool over your eyes because he stumbled into the issue and likes that it gets him support and face time.

I hope so.

I still believe her recent comments on Steffy’s show were more of a trap than anything else. She needs to realize her chances of winning the nomination are much better if she supports the Birthers than the GOP establisment

That is exactly the problem.

And running around FR making excuses and covering for Trump does not sound like a conservative in action.
