Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson announced today that he's running for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
"I'm ready for a different America," Johnson said in a statement today. "I'm ready for the day when a person can build a good life on a decent income, and we can take our government at its word."
Johnson announced his candidacy Thursday morning on the steps of the New Hampshire State House and plans to spend three days in the early-nominating state meeting with supporters and visiting local businesses.
Get off the dope, man.
I agree on Palin. I love her but don’t think she has a chance. As for Bachmann, I really like her, but she just got owned by Stephonopolus. As for abortion in rape situations, I think that should be allowed. Why should a woman be forced to carry some degenerate’s seed? It would be more punishment heaped upon the woman and family involved. Secondly, degenerates usually produce more degenerates.
Learn.
Grow.
Or continue down the zealot road you are on.
What is so hard about this concept?
So how long before Johnson quits the GOP after getting little support and runs as a Libertarian, à la Ron Paul and Bob Barr?
So far, the only acceptable choices (i.e., both true conservatives and able to get 270 electoral votes) are Tim Pawlenty and Herman Cain.
It’s utterly barbaric to kill a person for the crime of her father.
Well, let’s see. You say you oppose abortion. But you support pro-baby-lilling candidates for public office.
Which should I believe, the words or the action?
I will never vote for a pro-abortion candidate.
Republican, Democrat, Independent, Green, Red, or Purple, if you don’t understand that it is NEVER justified to intentionally intentionally kill an innocent human being, whatever that person’s age or stage in life, then while we may appear to agree on certain issues like gay marriage, the economy, etc., it’s only a facade. You have no principles at all, and will compromise on anything if the “need” arises.
There are some absolutes in life, and not killing innocent babies is one of them.
We’ll never get to vote for any candidate who agrees with us 100% on all issues and would vote the way we want them to vote 100% of the time in Congress. So ultimately, we vote for someone because we believe that at some fundamental level, we share the same values.
I don’t share any fundamental values with anyone who thinks that it’s ever OK to intentionally kill an innocent child, and I certainly don’t want that person deciding when it’s time to send my son into battle.
Any apparent agreement such a person and I would have on any other issue is likely to be mere coincidence, and certainly pales in importance compared to a right as fundamental as the right to life.
I think that it's terribly sad that any woman would either put herself or find herself in the position that she thinks that she must kill a part of herself -- her own offspring -- to survive.
Killing children means he goes to playgrounds and shoots or slices living, breathing skulls full of mush. Do you see the difference?
Of course I see the difference... The children are being murdered in different places with the exact same result.
Get a grip, let's work together and we can win this battle.
So yes, let's work together. I say no to dead babies on the playground or in an abortion "clinic" - If you agree with that I am sure we can work together in some manner.

Just Damn Ping.
Please help me understand here. A woman gets raped. You feel that she shouldn’t be able to take a pill the next day to make sure she doesn’t get pregnant?
Ah heck.
I’ll make this list up myslef.

Mr Johnson, what would do about ILLEGAL ALIENS, Mexico, ENERGY. I don't mind his \/iews on weed, but I want to know about TAXES, the border, ILLEGALS and JOBS!!! SOCIAL ISSUES shouldn't be an issue in 2012 -- we need to DEFEAT the Marxist Jimmy Carter. (who would'\/e thought that there would be someone WORSE then CARTER!!!!)
That’s all well and good. But what the heck is a LeoFarnsworth?
Damn degenerate babies. They SHOULD be aborted - the little buggers.
/obvious sarc
Which is why he doesn't have a prayer of getting elected - the government-media-Wall Street complex will annihilate him if he starts to attract attention.
But opinions on him are an excellent litmus test - stating disdain for Johnson and his candidacy on FR says a lot about who the "conservative" poster really is.
What do I gotta do to qualify? I never thought of myself as a pro-life extremist, but it is true that I'd never, ever vote for a candidate for President of the United States of America who is in favor of legalized baby-killing, but hey, who am I to say?
EternalVigilance has always seemed to think I'm more of a “moderate,” LOL. ;-)

Do you think that the children of all criminals should be put to death for a crime they didn't commit?
It would be more punishment heaped upon the woman and family involved.
Wow, that sound EXACTLY LIKE OBAMA when he said he didn't want his daughters "punished" with a baby?
Secondly, degenerates usually produce more degenerates.
Things a little slow today over at Stormfront?
I bet you thought Buck v. Bell was the greatest SCOTUS decision since Dred Scott.
Do you have actual evidence that "degenerates usually produce more degenerates" or is that just something you heard at a Klan rally?
