EPA Raps for Kids: 'Public Transportation Is the Way to Go' Thursday, April 21, 2011 By Susan Jones

(CNSNews.com) - "Click it, flip it, turn the handle to the right, turn off the water, twist the handle real tight."
So begins a song about climate change, available for downloading from the EPA's Web site. The EPA says we should "blast out" the song at our Earth Day celebrations -- "because if this won't save the planet nothing will."
The song tells children, "The climate is changing and thats a fact, bears dont know when to take a nap, On top of that it wont be cool when the flood waters rise and mosquitoes rule."
According to the Washington Times, the song was recorded by Ted Coopwood of the EPA's Office of Childrens Health Programs, who has written a number of raps intended to galvanize kids to take an interest in the environment.
The lyrics are as follows:
Come on and Click it, flip it, turn the handle to the right, turn off the water, twist the handle real tight. Slip on your sneakers, lace em up tight, leave the car parked you know thats alright. Public transportation is the way to go, its one of the ways to keep emissions low, you can ride your bike, instead of the car, if we save on fuel then well all go far.

You can pick up paper and recycle it too, and there are many other things that you can do. You can click off the game boy, flip off the light, while youre brushing your teeth, turn the handle to the right. Close the fridge door - keep it shut tight, no food has been added since the middle of the night. A 5 minute shower is all thats needed to keep energy from being depleted. A long sleeve sweater is what I know will keep you toasty and the fuel bills low. Plant a tree in your neighborhood, besides giving shade you know it looks real good.

The USA is where we are to kick a new trend and to raise the bar. The climate is changing and thats a fact, bears dont know when to take a nap, On top of that it wont be cool when the flood waters rise and mosquitoes rule. Its time to get off the couch and start to move.

Herd all the little sheepies into the cattle car.
Don’t they know that most of the country has no public transportation?
Also, in the big cities where they do have it, the kids already use it.
Public transportation where I live is called hitch hiking!
“Dont they know that most of the country has no public transportation?

Facts and matters of practicality are not important.
Get in line with the rest of the sheeple.
Are any of the EPA rulers going to ride Marta late at night?
Search the last couple of days of the story about Marta.
Don’t think so.
Here it is.

I will say that riding MARTA to the airport on a Saturday night/Sunday morning just after midnight is pretty stupid. That, and I’m almost invariably packing when I ride MARTA, which these guys didn’t have the option of doing.
The EPA is as much of a criminal, out of control, enterprise as the BATFE. Cut the budget and toss anyone b*tching about the cuts in jail under RICO.
Hey kids,
While you’re crammed like sardines in a non air conditioned bus, traveling through Atlanta on a hot steamy Georgia afternoon, that air conditioned limo that passed your bus on I-85 was an EPA bureaucrat headed to a global warming conference.
Just what America needs is an audience fond of rap, taking public transportation, so they can be recruited into gangs.....
Geez, I was just looking for the “like” button for your comment! TMFB (too much facebook).
Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm
And once puberty hits, ALL the lads and lasses will be lined up to ride the bus to the local passion pit. Right.
The government has been pissing away our money for a long time but they ways they are pissing it away now are pissing me way off. This has to stop.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and have never used public transportation in my life!
Public transportation should be eliminated unless it totally pays for itself!!!

I'd say "depends." I've lived in a place with great public transportation and used it extensively even when I had a car. It's especially great when you're partying and don't want to drink and drive, and it's great for avoiding rush hour. It took half an hour to drive downtown to shop, and I paid a lot for parking. A streetcar ticket cost less and got me there much faster. Why fight highway traffic for four hours? Pay about the same as you would for gas and take a train, and arrive relaxed.
But that was overseas. I've never lived in a place in the US where public transportation could reasonably replace even 1% of my driving.
Well, I wonder what the next track is on the Agitprop Theatre soundtrack?
