There is a new Sun rising and youve never seen anything like it.
Sun News Network hits the television airways Monday at 4:30 p.m. from coast to coast.
Sun newspapers have risen in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg and today theyll be joined by Sun News.
Sun Media is the largest newspaper chain in Canada and Sun News plans to capitalize on that.
We are proud of what we have accomplished and cant wait to see the results. We want people to watch and see our product for themselves, says Luc Lavoie, the network spokesman.
The pace will be different from what people are used to seeing in Canada. It will be personality-driven, prime-time programming. It will be less politically correct and we will focus on what people are talking about around the water cooler or at the dinner table.
The style of TV news in Canada hasnt changed in 35 years, until now, Lavoie says.
They all cover the same stories, take the same position and have the same style of news. It is time for something different, he says.
I respect the competition, but we are offering something different. The top gun is not the CBC. People dont watch them they watch CNN.

They’re making no bones about who & what they are - they’re not trying to be Fox, they’re Conservative
>The top gun is not the CBC. People dont watch them they watch CNN.<
He’s correct. As a Canuck, the CBC is so anti-American they make MSNBC look like the GOP Channel. It should draw viewers in the Atlantic provinces and Alberta but inland BC and ON, is questionable.
They may not be afraid of their ideology, but “personality-driven, prime-time programming” certainly sounds like they’re using Fox as a programming model.
A new poll: Will their short life Conservative life result from,
A. Getting arrested for hate speech.
B. Being bought up by the Saudis.
Obviously, they were influenced by the popularity & success of Fox. But they’re not pretending, either.
If they have real guts, they’ll use “Money for Nothing” as their theme song.
“If they have real guts, theyll use Money for Nothing as their theme song”
Meh, that’s nothing. Ezra Levant who hosted the 1st show, ...
“In dramatically making a point about free speech, he dared to show the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that enraged Muslims world wide a few years ago.”
How about Manitoba and Sask? I wonder how it will play in Quebec!!
I’m originally from Sask before our family moved to BC. Sask is mostly rural with the close-knit mentality so it will play well. Manitoba is the screwed up version of Sask LOL. (j/k) I doubt it will do good in QC because those francophonies don’t like any resentment talks towards their mafia tribute a.k.a. “equalization payments”, the dirty little secret that holds Canada together.
There’s a surprising amount of small-c conservatives across Canada, fed up with high taxes, endless utopian social programs, and a general bleeding-heart mentality in government.
Kind of ironic - or fitting - that this is being launched by Peladeau from the socialist bastion of Quebec.
Quebec is a nice place — I go snowmobiling up there, since the trails of Quebec connects with the \/AST trails.
LOL, Max, did you actually post this?
“Hes correct. As a Canuck,....”
Iirc, you live in California and have for a while, right?
After denigrating Canada as a cesspool of socialism on FR for the last 4 years, now, all of a sudden, you are one of us Canucks?
“It should draw viewers in the Atlantic provinces and Alberta but inland BC and ON, is questionable.”
Ridiculous. Atlantic Canada trends liberal. The heartland of Ontario has become very conservative after all these years of the provincial McGuinty government.

"Sask is mostly rural with the close-knit mentality".....
You say that like it's a bad thing?
I see you r still on stalker mode because I called canada KANADASTAN? LOL!
Was it because I started LOL because they hauled a patient into Tim Horton in New Westminster hospital? hehe

Oh dear, clueless as ever. I know kanadastan more than you do. Here’s a little hint to help you stop your hard-on for max americana whenever max posts on kanadastanic issues...I;m still working for the BC Conservatives, even while in America and sorry to pop your little arroagant bubble, Ontario is is a “purple’ state, and switches whenever it benefits them. It has trended more liberal since recorded time because it is a metropolitan city with an inferiority complex looking towards new York and Detroit. It was already part of our report we received in 2005 and that trend has not changed.
Like I have explained more than countless time on FR, I helped Harper win in BC as part of the strategy staff that polled every city outside of the BC Inland, including Manitoba and Sask.

(Sigh) I give up..my statement was plain and simple yet you wore your tin-foil hat like clockwork.
I wish we could have a conservative network in the US!
