Electric cars have been around since the 1890s and still GM can't figure it out?
The Pius and the Honda thing seem to do OK.

I drove a Pinto for 100,000 miles back in the 70’s. It was my first car, delivered for about $2000. I had the 2000cc german engine, which delivered good performance, although I couldn’t keep up with a VW over washboard gravel roads with my leafspring suspension.
It had a monocoque construction, i.e. no frame, and it’s vulnerability in a collision was obvious. The rack and pinion steering allowed me to avoid two death-dealers, that I can recall. Anyway, I survived and I loved every minute of it.

Wait until this is offered as a grand prize on game shows.
Unless it already has.

Excellent idea! Like the American Ronson tank in Germany.

Zippo and Ronson are such legendary names. Maybe Chevy BIC may be more appropriate.

...and I loved every minute of it.
I will bet a $100 that is the first time in history that a Pinto owner ever uttered that phrase. LOL

The large current draw of these rechargeable hybrids is surely going to bring on a spate of these fires in poorly wired garages. (Do they need 240v outlets? At least those usually require the attention of an electrician. I shudder to think of plugging a Volt into an overhead light fixture or such.)

I have to suppose you are wrong on this piece of evidence: The 2000cc Pinto came to dominate the “2 wheel race” and in fact transformed it. Previously, the winner was the one who could go the farthest on two wheels ( i.e. on one side of the car ) around a track. With the Pinto, they could continue indefinitely, so the event became a timed race for 2 laps or so. I have to assume that these guys loved their Pintos.

I must be reminiscing about KISS: I read “Eric Carr catches fire again.”
Don’t ask me why I felt the need to share that.

According to another report, fire investigators were actually on scene when it reignited - and nobody was near it.

According to another report, it was not plugged in for the second fire.

I thought you needed to have 240v in your garage, which most people have to put in special as I don’t think it is standard circuitry in most garages. If it isn’t some kind of fraud, sounds like he has a hot lemon.
To: FlingWingFlyer
They need to send it back to GM for revolting.

Looks like a wildfire hazard in the making there. Nasty looking smoke too. That has to be worse than CO2.

sounds like we need to give GM a dozen or so more billion dollars so the union workers can improve on this and we can Win The Future!
