Clown's Credit (Trump)
John Batchelor Show ^ | April19,2011 | John Batchelor

Posted on 04/18/2011 8:11:46 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The clown's mask drops to reveal the clown's mask named Donald Trump, and, while it lasts, this display of vanity, loopiness, garrulousness, and aimlessness is what little entertainment is left in modern politics. Trump is no more serious a candidate than his hairstyle.

What continues to puzzle is whether this favors the Democrats, the Republicans, or the so-called TV news media. John Fund tells me that Trump registered as aa member of Ross Perot's Reform Party in 1999, then became a Democrat in 2001, then became a Republican in 2009. In sum, Trump is a simpleton about Party discipline. There is no need for an explanation.

Trump is no more a candidate for the presidency than is he a statesman. This is Walter Mitty as a flamboyant huckster. John Fund also observes that Fund will only go as far as he can short of a financial disclosure form, because then he would have to risk the revelation that his billions of dollars are somebody else's loans, and that his net worth is never more than his ability to prosper off credit to his companies.

It seems you people are as terrified of Trump as you are of palin. There can be no other reason for the hysteria over his possibly running for office.

Seriously. You haven't been paying attention, if you think conservatives are "terrified" of Trump.

The truth is, conservatives love the fact that Trump is attacking Obama from the unassailable positioning he holds, but we know better than to take him seriously as a candidate for the presidency.

Trump's political track record is a mixed bag of center-left to liberal positions on fiscal and social issues, which doesn't pass the smell test for conservatives. His past statements and donations to liberals have already doomed any chances he might entertain about becoming president. It just ain't gonna happen.

In the meantime, we're thrilled that he's providing some much needed air cover for leading Republicans to attack Obama on the bc (and other issues).

Look at Trump’s history. He is not a conservative.

He certainly was on some issues back in 1999/2000. He supported eliminating the national debt, school choice, securing the borders, allowing citizens to opt out of social security, the death penalty and increased military spending.

He, unfortunately, also favored Canadian-style health care and was pro-abortion.

Have you noticed that only the RomneyBOTs and ObamaBOTs are attacking Donald Trump

Throw in the RoveBots, if there are any.

Mark Levin did go after him, though.

More like center-right on fiscal issues, hard right on national security and to the left on social issues.

No, what I think you should do is, if Trump is nominated STAY HPME!! Isn’t that what those who demand the PERFECT candidate seem to do?

Stand on principle, great idea and then when the shithead Obama walks to another win AND retakes the House and keeps the senate, you can watch what we have left crumble and disappear.

It’s OK though because you will have your PRINCIPLES intact if nothing else.

You’re a pretty special guy, ya know?

The clown’s mask drops to reveal the clown’s mask” - The clown’s pants dropped to reveal some really big, red polka-dot shorts.

Job #1 = dislodge Obama
Who has the best chance of doing it = Donald Trump
Living hell = 4 more years Obama
