It's a long article that I'll read from start to finish later, but this one item really jumped out at me:

Every black American is born into a system which regards his or her life as a problem to be solved, rather than an opportunity to be explored.

Damn, that really gets to the heart of the matter, doesn't it?

"One hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition."

Let's see... baseless rhetoric, wealth envy, and a cry for "social justice" all in one quote. I think that might be a record!

The liberal’s “black socialist experiment” failed.

White Democrats never left their “slave owner” mentality, and black Democrats never left their “slave” mentality. What’s worse is that the media won’t let either group move on.

Anyone seen Ken Burns’ Jazz documentary?

One of the things about it that is very telling is that you get a glimpse of, among other things, the Harlem Renaissance. There WAS a time (pre 1960) when things were happening in Black America. And they happened there just the way that they happen anywhere else: hard work, over generations...many obstacles to overcome. But hard work over generations IS a solution and in fact it is the only solution.

Certainly artistic innovation is one way to gauge the lifeblood of a civilization (one way...not the only way...perhaps not even the best way, but it is a data point). In the history of this vast and varied movement we call “Jazz” there is so much to see and learn and hear. It’s truly amazing.

It is also very depressing, as just when Black America was starting to get some momentum, along came the Great Society with all its help, and after that, it has pretty much been a downward spiral.

The social enslavement of the “Blacks” goes all the way back to such liberal luminaries as Cecil Rhodes (Rhodesia, Rhodes Scholars etc)and Margaret Sanger who’s ethnic cleansing and population control was aimed primarily at the Negro. Even Adolph himself drew inspiration from their philosophy. Now they are kept in semi-permanent enslavement by government policies that suck the ambition out of them and drive them to pull the lever for the Democrat Party at each opportunity. Remember the picture of the mob in Detroit not too long ago? Obama Cash! Obama Stash!

50 years ago racism played a large role in black under-achievment. Today, black culture is the major cause, as well as the main cause of crime, poverty, unemployment, etc. The victim and entitlement mentality must be replaced with an appreciation for education, hard work and self reliance. Until that happens the problem will only get worse. As a black President, Obama had a huge opportunity to encourage this change, (no white President can do it without being labeled a racist. He chose to maintain the status quo.

As long as the dimocrats keep buying the black vote with our money the black hand will be reaching out for the cash.

If a majority of blacks were to break free of the welfare teat they would not vote straight dim anymore.

Thankfully, not all people of darker hued skin permit pity-party-think to dictate their destinies, or view "being like whitey" (or, say, the hard working Asian or Hispanic next door) as a sell-out curse to be shunned.

Rednecks come in many colors,
Yellow, red, tan, white, and black;
But to a one they all stand proud and tall:
They're the strength of this country's back.

Yeah.

He wrote one hell of a good synopsis of how liberals have destroyed the black man. Not on purpose, mind you, but with a goal in mind, VOTES.

Lyndon Johnson even said as much as he signed his bill-something like, and these are my words but fair to his comment, 'now we have a lock on these people forever'. Meaning, of course, VOTES.

Democrats moved the blacks from the actual plantation into a worse plantation. A controlling situation of dependence and promises of hand outs, kinda like the ol 72 virgins lure islamic jerks promise. Spirit killing programs that say, bottom line, you are less than me. (Just look how liberals fight against REAL EDUCATION for these folks. Look at the fight against vouchers, etc. They lose control when they lose the teacher union goal continuously forcing blacks to SEE themselves as victems of racist conservatives and republicans and whitey. (Teachers who are inept but essentially TENURED by the union thugs, well paid and safe.)

Oh yeah.

Most blacks live on the liberal plantation and cannot see what has happened to them from the perspective of the last 60 years. Too bad. They are precious yet do not know it, enslaved as they are in anger and bitterness fostered by those who control how they are supposed to think via our liberal education system and the press. And as I understand it now-our very test books.

Liberals are spirit crunchers. Always have been.

Talk about what a revolution we could have if that were to change!

The research I have seen finds that blacks are as happy as whites. I have even seen a few studies that show them happier. And contrary to what all of these talking heads say, blacks have higher self-esteem.

Things are seldom what they seem.

Read some conservative black autobiographies (Sowell, Walter Williams), as well as their scholarly writings and you’ll learn how everything was getting better for blacks BEFORE the civil rights movement, which was basically the rooster taking credit for the sunrise.

A decade of rapidly expanding government has crushed opportunity beneath its bulk, and this is especially devastating to the fragile hopes of underprivileged minorities.

I agree with the government crushing opportunity part but whole heartedly disagree with the underprivileged minorities crap.

Minorities are over privileged in this country.

Minorities are legally exempt from criticism by virtue of the fact that any criticism is deemed generated by prejudice on the part of the critic. The ease with which a plaintiff can gain a favorable verdict from the courts silences critics quite effectively. Typically a minority will not even have to take a case to court to gain a finical settlement. The mere threat of a suit will see that the minorities palm is greased.

Also fear of public opprobrium will cause an accused critic to back down, apologize and or provide financial inducements to the purveyors of racial strife to fend off public accusations of prejudice.

Then of course there is the Congress of the United States that is continuously noodling on how to provide the over privileged minorities with more privileges. Consider the recent and ongoing farce of the negro farmer. Any man woman or child need only express the opinion that they had once dreamed of being a farmer to on a government form and have that form submitted by a member in good standing of the tort bar to receive a check for $50,000 from the US government.

Under-privileged my tired arse.
