So as it happens I was in California the past two weeks and there was some news about a proposal by Brown to move a significant number of inmates from state prisons to county lock-ups to help the budget. Prisons are cheaper to run if you have no prisoners, just guards to pay.
“Governor Brown, there was a time bomb ticking under the seat in this conference room. What did you do with it?”
“I moved it to another seat.”
“What good is that? It’ll still go off.”
“My job isn’t to solve the problem, my job is to do something and tell you I’ve solved the problem. Come on Sutter, let’s get the heck out of here before it goes off.”
