The man behind Donald Trump's possible 2012 presidential campaign is a registered Democrat who voted for Barack Obama in 2008. Not only that, but Michael Cohen, an executive at the Trump Organization who doubles as Trump's chief political advisor, once volunteered for 1988 presidential candidate Michael Dukakis and worked for a Democratic member of Congress.
But since Obama's election in 2008, he said he has grown disappointed with the president, so much so that he now describes himself as "offended" by the administration's agenda. America, Cohen said, has become a "third-world nation," echoing words that have become a familiar refrain of Trump's.
His distaste for Obama, and Trump's professed interest in pursuing the Republican nomination in 2012, led Cohen, businessman Stewart Rahr and other supporters to create "Should Trump Run?" as a way both to spark -- and gauge -- interest in a potential Trump presidential bid.
With Trump stoking new speculation about his political ambitions every day, Cohen said "the phones have not stopped ringing, the fax machine is off the hook" and his email inbox is clogged. More than a few of those messages have to do with the issue that has catapulted Trump into the headlines recently -- birtherism.
"I am certain that the president was born in Hawaii -- I really am," Cohen said. "I am most irritated with the fact that this president has been exceptionally secretive when it relates to any personal documentation about his past. If you run on a platform of transparency, you should be transparent."
Cohen was the aide who flew to Iowa in a private plane bearing Trump's logo to meet with Republican operatives there in March. He said he may make a similar trip to another crucial early nominating state -- New Hampshire -- in the weeks to come.
Cohen said he sees no conflict in his advocacy for Trump now and his past support for Obama.
"I'm prepared to put the fact that I voted for Obama to the side," he said. I'm more concerned now about my children, future grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and everybody's children and families. I'm more concerned about them than I am about party affiliation."

Now you see the media and the Rinos all attacking Trump, because he is taking the fight to Obama. It is too bad that none of them have the nads to do the same thing.
Obama will not be defeated by any candidate who acts prim and proper, does not take the gloves off and does not go to the mat.
We need a street fighter.
Donald Trump's focus seems to be on his own "wisdom" and the coercive power he could wield as President. He is not appealing to American citizens to take away power from their elected representatives. Rather, he is asking American voters to trade the Obama brand for the Trump brand.
I have not heard him say one word about the magnificence of the United States Constitution's provisions for self-government by "We, the People." He only speaks of his deal-making abilities.
America needs a leader who understands and is devoted to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Independence and structured into the Constitution's protections for individual liberty, as well as its limitations on government power in all of its branches.
Trump is a distraction from the principles the Founders held dear. When he begins taking the attention off himself and on to those principles, then he can be taken seriously.
Rove does not like Trump - which makes me like Trump.
Mark Levin has been a coward in never mentioning Obama’s eligibility - it makes me like Trump.
Why is Levin such a filthy coward?

Former Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.), now a D.C. lobbyist, warned that a robust bloc of rabble-rousers spells further Senate dysfunction. “We don’t need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples,” Lott said in an interview. “As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.” But Lott said he’s not expecting a tea-party sweep. “I still have faith in the visceral judgment of the American people,” he said.

Look how Chump operates. Caught red-handed now with his vicious attacks on George Bush, who most conservatives had issues with, he now says but for Bush there would have likely been no Obama. That may well be true. I have been a harsh critic of Bush’s spending, including in my book. But Chump was calling Bush EVIL and demanded his IMPEACHMENT because of the Iraq war and in the middle of that war. He said Bush lied to get us into Iraq. His comments were vile and outrageous, not unlike the America-hating leftists who sought to undermine are armed forces there. Now he wants us to believe that his criticism of Bush was because Bush’s poor record set the stage for Obama? Chump attacked Bush over Iraq because if you were a big-mouth, attention-seeking liberal, it was the thing to do. He had no altruistic or principled conservative motive for doing so at the time and expressed none.
As recently as last year, while conservatives and Tea Party activists were organizing and rallying against Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their radical agenda, Chump was helping to fund some our opponents. He contributed to left-wing, Tea Party-hating menaces like Chuck Schumer, Anthony Weiner, and Harry Reid. What about his contributions to Charlie Crist, while Crist was running against Marco Rubio? Did he donate to any of the Tea Party candidates? Did he contribute to the Tea Party movement in any way, with time or money, before today? Why not?
Chump also praised Nancy Pelosi. He thought she was great. I played the audio. I guess he was just mistaken, again. He supported universal health care, but not any more, of course. He supported abortion and gay marriage, but that was then, this is now. He supported John Kerry for president in 2004, but that’s because Bush was so evil. He leaned on government officials to use eminent domain against a little old lady whose home happened to be in the way of a parking lot he wanted to build for one of his casinos in Atlantic City, but he has always been for private property rights.
So now Chump rails against China and demands Obama’s birth certificate and we are supposed to swoon over the man. But when asked about the Ryan budget, he turns stupid again — he says Ryan should not take the lead on this, we need a bipartisan consensus to move forward? And with whom do we build this bipartisan consensus? Reid? Obama? Is Chump really this dumb, or is he, once again, trying to figure out which way the wind is blowing?
Chump is a phony and dissembling. He called a hastily organized press event this morning because I, and others, are on to him.
Today he is speaking at a local Tea Party rally. And why? Because now he wants our support, not because he supports us or our principles, or ever did. Chump is about Chump. And he thinks we’re too stupid to notice. Are we?

Palm Beach, Florida (CNN) – Donald Trump has more harsh criticism for one of the most recognizable men in the world: George W. Bush.
In a display of bipartisan bashing, Trump lashed out at the nation’s 43rd president as he criticized the 44th.
“George Bush gave us Barack Obama. If it weren’t for George Bush, we wouldn’t have Barack Obama,” Trump said on Friday. “So I’m not thrilled with George Bush.”
The billionaire real estate mogul made the comments at his famed Palm Beach estate Mar-a-Lago that sits on 20 acres and boasts 126 rooms. The star of NBC’s “The Apprentice” spoke to reporters in a hastily arranged news conference moments before a posh, poolside party at the estate and hours before he was to speak at a Tea Party rally.
Trump was pressed to explain his comments.
“Because he[Bush] didn’t have a great presidency, especially at the end. And because of his actions, and because of his aura, it was very tough for a Republican to win,” Trump said. “And in all fairness to John McCain and to Sarah Palin, I think it would have been very, very tough for anybody – for Abraham Lincoln – to win after having followed George Bush.”
Trump has previously let out harsh criticism of the 43rd president.
In a March 2007 interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Trump said, “Well, I think Bush is probably the worst president in the history of the United States.” He cited the war in Iraq, calling it a “total disaster” and added later: “Look, everything in Washington has been a lie. Weapons of mass destruction - it was a total lie. It was a way of attacking Iraq.”
Trump now sees Obama as deserving that notorious distinction, calling him “the worst president in the history of the United States.” Among other items, Trump reasoned that the president has not done well handling foreign affairs, such as the conflict in Libya, and that “Obamacare” is bad for the country.
Headlining a Tea Party rally in Boca Raton on Saturday, Trump will make his first appearance at a campaign-like political rally this year. The rally will mirror others across the country over the weekend as conservative activists protest government spending days before Monday’s deadline to file taxes.
Media and public interest in Trump has recently increased as he’s questioned President Obama’s birthplace. And his popularity with Tea Party activists has also increased. The reality television star boasted that interest in Saturday’s rally ballooned after it was announced that he would appear.
“It was supposed to be 300 people,” he said. “When they heard I was speaking, I heard it’s going to be anywhere from five-to-ten thousand people.”
And yet Trump has publicly supported one issue that Tea Party activists despise: the bank bailout. When asked if he can win Tea Party support given his support for this issue, Trump demurred from a direct response.
“Well I actually think the tea party is more of a party of common sense.”
Trump is protecting Obama, by taking his failures of the front page.
Wrong. We need a conservative. I can't believe how many of you Trumpets have tossed aside your alleged conservatism for the dog who barks the loudest- with the most liberal past and history of any perspective Obama opponent we've seen so far.
I challenge you to find one rock solid conservative who's donated to hard line liberals as much and as consistently as Trump. I challenge you to find any rock solid conservative who uses eminent domain to try and force a woman off her property for his limo parking lot. I challenge you to find any rock solid conservative who called for Bush to be impeached for 'lying' about Iraq.
Karl ROve and Mark Levin are two coards attacking Trump. They never said anything about eligibility. ROve is the biggest POS ever. He attacks Palin too.
He is richer than he has ever been! Just follow the money.

You're too caught up in the past. What happened on the past is water that has long ago passed under the bridge. Not one single conservative is willing to stand up as a presidential candidate and take the fight to Obama...not one.
We will not win this election running a campaign under the guise of business as usual. If a conservative or Rino does that, we will be looking at 4 more years of Obama. Count on it.

How can he be certain if he hasn’t seen the long form birth certificate?
If he’s ‘protecting’ him, he’s doing a pretty shitty job of it. Have you seen Obama’s poll numbers since Trump has begun to pound on him? Hint: they ain’t good.
Trump is likely better than Romney. I don’t know though, Trump seems to be tapping into discontent and anger in order to gain support and to me it seems like that’s all he is. I pretty tired of all the anger and fighting although I understand the reasons for it. I want something more positive to look forward to, like whomever wins would put this nightmare in the rearview mirror.
