BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, N.Y. (PIX11) Administrators at Brooklyn Academy High School in Bedford-Stuyvesant canceled Friday's talent show in the wake of a all-girl gang assault on one of the student contestants, PIX 11 has learned.
According to authorities, 17-year-old Shacara McLaurin was brutally attacked by at least five other students on April 1st, one of them hitting her in the face with a padlock wrapped in a sock.
"Yo, b--ch, I got a lock," one of the teen suspects allegedly shouted, as she pummeled McLaurin with the weapon.
"I wasn't able to open my jaw. I wasn't able to talk. I wasn't able to sing," the victim told the New York Daily News.
One of McLaurin's fellow classmates, Jacky Alcine, told PIX 11 he had heard McLaurin rehearse for the talent show and knew she was a favorite to win.

The sublime serenity of the uber-liberal urban plantation...
You may be right, but in my case, I’ve never seen the show. I was just curious as to what kind of people would do this sort of thing, and found out pretty fast.
What a sick society.
In boot camp, a bar of soap in a sock, maybe not as likely fatal but still dangerous. using a lock is potentially deadly. all the perps need to do serious time.
Decory, Ashanti, and Chazmia. Amish names?
Meanwhile, this is not exactly new. Anybody forget Tanya Harding?
This is so sad. You have a girl truly trying to better herself and 5 hoodrats decide that ain’t cool. Throw the book at those bitches.
Then you can forget about education and the justice system. All you can do now, is to plan to meet them one-on-one in your back hallway and hope you survive (having spotted them the initiative and the element of surprise), or go the forehand option and get together with some friends to hunt over bait.
But that would be illegal, maybe even immoral, so of course I am not advocating that.
Anyone else have another idea?

A pair of Kenworth lug nuts on a sturdy bootlace can produce some interesting results, too.
Is your new book out yet?
Yep.
Multiculturalism: all cultures are equal...
To be used as a premise in an upcoming episode of either, Law and Order, CSI, or most likely, The Good Wife.
Interesting variation on the concept of “double rifle”.
