BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, N.Y. (PIX11) Administrators at Brooklyn Academy High School in Bedford-Stuyvesant canceled Friday's talent show in the wake of a all-girl gang assault on one of the student contestants, PIX 11 has learned.
According to authorities, 17-year-old Shacara McLaurin was brutally attacked by at least five other students on April 1st, one of them hitting her in the face with a padlock wrapped in a sock.
"Yo, b--ch, I got a lock," one of the teen suspects allegedly shouted, as she pummeled McLaurin with the weapon.
"I wasn't able to open my jaw. I wasn't able to talk. I wasn't able to sing," the victim told the New York Daily News.
One of McLaurin's fellow classmates, Jacky Alcine, told PIX 11 he had heard McLaurin rehearse for the talent show and knew she was a favorite to win.

Yeah, they take almost as many vacations as the Obamas! (snicker)
Would it be that MSM means Mostly Sensationalism Media?
I like you.
You give tours of your test facilities?
You are right. As soon as we read the headline, Bed-Sty, and Shacara, we knew the whole story.
A group does not have the talant or the drive to rise out of the sewer, so they want to drag those that do back down among them.
For the Idol thread group. The video is worth the minute to view it
how bout taking on a little black on black violence for a change
We moved out of the city but will be moving even further in the next few years to a 46 acre farm.
We will soon be living in a county with a population of less than 10,000 and my son will attend a rural school.
Good ol’ God fearing country folk. The kind that wave when you drive by.
I would rather die than move back to the city.
Let the parasites burn it down.

Correct. An urban sociologist studying inner city Chicago wrote an article a few years ago about the large percentage of teens she interviewed who lived with neither their biological father or mother. Many were being raised by grandparents, aunts, or simply moving from the house of one friend/relative to another. Some were not clear on exactly who their mothers were or whether their mothers were alive or dead. We’re well past the “where are the fathers?” stage.
Sounds like a couple of steps closer to paradise...enjoy!
“I blame the parents”
That should be singular as in single mother parent since 70% of these Amish kids are born to single mothers. This is a good example of what happens when there are no fathers taking an active role in raising children.
Gee, I wonder what brings out all this yute violence in people? Guess we'll never know.
I think the point was that this young woman had very high aspirations in life and had a lot of talent, only to have thugs try to take her life.
The most horrible message from the adults was delivered when the cowardly gang of girls was released without bail. THAT in the long run is more terrible than the crime. It teaches people in the inner city that there are no consequences to bad behavior, and makes it dangerous for the people who are law abiding.
You want to hear something seriously depressing? I was looking at some of the kids at the public park I take my son to. I won’t go into detail of why I thought of this, but the the people you are talking about, growing up with no parents, are now becoming parents themselves. Think about this; what are their kids going to be like? While at the park I had a very brief interaction with an approximately 4 year old black kid. I honestly don’t think he knew how to talk. He only grunted at me. The weird thing was, he looked well cared for as far as clothes and appearance. I think things will get even more interesting over the next 10 to 12 years in this demographic.
Good for you! I love the country and would never move to the city. I lived in the city until I was 4 years old. I still remember it. It was dirty and scary! Who would think that a 4 year old would remember. I do for sure!
My oldest son goes to college in a very large city and he also states he would never move to the city. He adores coming home on weekends when he can. He always mentions the smell when he comes back like its the best smell in the world.
Your son will appreciate your choices, best of luck to you!

Back yard knife throwing. The hex nut on a string isn’t as photogenic, but I posted these on my Facebook page. There is knife throwing in my new book, so I had to teach myself how to do it. The knife is from a piece of scrap cutoff that looked so cool I welded a little handle on it. This was 20 or so years ago, but now it’s resurrected as my knife throwing test model.
Just wait until the gov stops giving out money! Zimbabwe ring a bell? Be prepared for double that debacle.
This is why gun control is so dangerous to our society.
