Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), joined by several other House Democrats, re-introduced on Thursday the Uniting American Families Act, which would permit homosexual and lesbian American citizens to sponsor their partners for legal residency in the United States, saying the status-quo is humanly cruel.
The New York congressman, who is leading the push for passing the legislation, said there are more than 100 Democrat co-sponsors of the bill, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
He also said that a similar bill is being introduced in the Senate by Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.).
The prospects of the bill passing are dim because it has no support from Republican members in the GOP-controlled House, although Rep. Nadler, without mentioning any names, alleged that some Republicans are considering supporting the legislation.
Today, thousands of committed same-sex couples are needlessly suffering because of unequal treatment under our immigration laws and this is an outrage, Nadler told reporters at a press conference on Capitol Hill on Thursday.
Nadler went on to say that it is a gratuitous cruelty that only homosexual Americans who fall in love with a foreign national must choose between their partner and their country. In turn, he added, heterosexual Americans are able to expeditiously sponsor their partners immigration to the United States.

Yeah, just what this country needs. More sexual perverts. From other countries even, as though there aren't enough being molested and recruited in public schools.
Any Repub who votes for this deserves to get AIDS.
Thanks for the ping; post; thread. Very interesting.
What the $^*$$?!!!
Now somehow someo people have it easier when going through the immigration process?!! I thought the idea of forcing everyone to accept relationships as marriage was gross, but this is both rediculously biased as it is absurd.
It almost sounds like they want to make the U.S. a “refugee haven” for those coming in from Europe who don’t like the situation of “Sharia Rising”.
In such a rush to post you tripped over your own logic. It is now and would still be a LEGAL immigrant process.
This isn't an amnesty.
In turn, he added, heterosexual Americans are able to expeditiously sponsor their partners immigration to the United States.
How can I easily get my wife who is foreign into the United States, I would like some explanation, or else these politicians are not making much sense.
Are these guys leaving out the Green Card process or something?
foreign rump rangers -> Just doing the jobs that American won’t do.
I think a far better idea would be for the mentally diseased people (who are trying to bring their sodomoite friends in to the country) to just get ccured/delivered of their perversion. They’d be much much happier.
It is not legal now for people to bring unrelated sexual partners to this country for permanent residency. This law attempts to equate rump rangers with normal people.
This isn't an amnesty.
No, it's a pre-emptive amnesty. Rather than wait for the sodomites to get here illegally (just doing the butts that Americans won't do) they want to legalize them before hand.
Legal "now"? Don't think so. You must have been in a rush to post.
