Reid To House Republicans: Friday’s Vote Will Show America Whose Side You’re On
democrats.senate.gov ^ | April 14, 2011 | U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Posted on 04/14/2011 4:20:17 PM PDT by mdittmar

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement on tomorrow’s House vote on the Republican budget:

“The vote you’ll cast tomorrow presents a clear choice between millionaires and the middle class. Whose side are you on?

“It will also answer for the country this question: Are Republicans serious about reducing the deficit, or are they going to continue pretending we can do it without asking millionaires, billionaires and corporations to pay their fair share?

“Our federal budget is like any family’s budget in that there are two columns: what we take in and what we spend. We can’t have a serious conversation about balancing the budget until Republicans stop pretending that the ledger has only one side.”

"The GOP needs to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way."

You are right... they do. What is even more obvious by now... they never will.

Thanks mdittmar. The only serious deficit reduction plan is the elimination of Obamacare, the elimination of the so-called stimulus pork barrels, and the elimination of reparations-in-all-but-name, such as the Obamaphones, welfare for black “farmers”, etc etc.

The republican leadership are all socialists, so they will vote for what the democrats want and aid in moving the US towards the New World Order.

I fear the socialists within the republican party will drive in the last nails.

Reid speaking to the freshmen house repubs. Wonder what those freshmen are made of? We'll soon find out.

It would mean the GOP grew a set.

And as the last budget deal proved, they haven’t. They cut less than a billion of real money on the deal, when they promised to cut 100 billion.

Face it, the GOP is going to cry and roll over. The TEA party didn’t work this time, and there will be enough flack next election they will be compromised or eliminated.

Hey Reid,
Lets get to truth. Tomorrows vote will tell us who is with the people and believe in limited constitutuional government. This is not class warfare no matter how hard you try to make it so. If you want save the country whay don’t you start by getting the lower 47% who don’t pay any taxes to start paying a measly 3% of their income. Everyone needs to get some skin in the game to save this great nation.

Your double-speak and propaganda is getting old. Loser.

Our federal budget is like any family’s budget...

Except as the head of my household I haven't spent the last 80 years on a drug fueled spending spree in Vegas with money I stole from other people at gunpoint.

Millionaires, billionaires and corporations didn’t cause the deficit, senator. You did.

We already know whose side you’re on.

It’s already quite clear what side Harry Reid is on. I am effing amazed at how much hyperbole the dems get away with. Nobody calls them on it.

What I’ve been reading in the news the last couple of years is, the FAT CAT DEMOCRATS are the ones that don’t pay their fair share. Reid is one of them.

“”How much money is Obama rasing from the middle class at 35,000.00 a ticket tonight?””

EXCELLENT question! They don’t like “fat cats” except at campaign time and those idiot “fat cats” will pay them for the privilege of being insulted? They’re going to forget all the slaps they took for the past 2 years? Or do they, like the rest of us understand that “his” words have no meaning whatsoever and are willing to play his game?

No wonder the rest of us who use common sense in our daily lives have trouble with that mentality.

If we could get all the money in all of the bank accounts of all the nefarious crooked mobsters that Reid has done his shady business with over the last couple of decades there would be enough money to wipe out the deficit with some left over to prosecute Reid.

These devious bastards have been setting the GOP up since before the 2008 election. yet the RINOS kiss thier a##es and the rest hide behind them hoping to make compromises. These bastards need thier head handed to them but it looks as though there’s no one on the horizon that can do this. sad!

This pre-emptive announcement shows that Reid does NOT want to bring up for a vote on the floor of the Senate a budgets that does real damage to the dim agenda.

There are EASILY a dozen dim Senators that would vote for this budget in a pinch.

Reid will do all he can to avoid that vote.

Interesting...in my budget the control I have is on the spending side...I can’t pass a law and increase my revenue...maybe that ought to be a theme...

I know you guys are against giving a civil answer to such crazy Reidery, but here goes: the federal government spends way too much. They don’t tax too little: they are already raking in trillions in taxes. Cut spending to balance the budget!
