‘Stop With the Damn Birth Certificate!’ Beck Delivers Strong Message to Birthers
The Blaze ^ | 04/14/2011 | Jonathon M. Seidl

Posted on 04/14/2011 1:32:53 PM PDT by Rational Thought

“Stop with the damn birth certificate!” he said. “Stop!” According to him, it is a non-issue that only detracts from the real problem in America, which is progressives fundamentally transforming America.

“If you’re going to lose your country– we’re going to lose it on a birth certificate?” he asked. “You have a real opportunity to talk about American exceptionalism … instead you’re going to waste time on the birth certificate?”

“You’re out of your mind if you think that is a winning argument for the next election. You’re out of your mind. You have to go fight the battle on the principles of America!”

You did not address any of my points in my several responses to you.

Why do you think that the MSM has any relevance? It is the propaganda arm of the left. You seem to think that trying to placate them, or do or say things that they will like or report honestly about is a useful endeavor?

The fact is that the vast majority of everyone connected with the MSM are hardcore leftists and their goal is to destroy America and they are enemies of conservative and constitutional principles, and anyone who espouses those principles.

If you want to know what “talking smack” is, read your comemnts. They are examples of “talking smack”.

Civility?

Post 915 you said
“You truly are an idiot.”

That the civility you want from others?

You really know no shame. Very ‘not’ conservative.

What many do not take into consideration is this really the hill “BC” to die on?

When there is so much more obvious this man has done let’s stay focus in the scheme of things if the BC issue is false it will be the icing not the whole cake!

MY point was the long form BC only resolves something if his birthplace is really in doubt AND his birthplace is the key issue.
Making his birthplace the key issue has been the tactic of the left.

It may not be ‘the issue’ but it is my question. have at it.
I already had at it.

You know more than you let on.
We sure do have a different definition of "know". No wonder we disagree on natural born citizen.

Thx for keeping it civil.
I try to keep the ogre in me in check. Sometimes, though...it's tough!

Don't worry, General, we'll try and hold Bunker Hill, even if it costs us our lives, while you and the others get ready for the other fights coming your way. It's gonna be a long war.

When there is so much more obvious this man has done let’s stay focus in the scheme of things if the BC issue is false it will be the icing not the whole cake!
Well then, go focus on it! What the hell are you doing here besides whining?! Just berating the actions others choose to freely take?
Your time, by your own statement, is wasted here.

Right, a Vattel-style NBC interpretation wont care where Obama was born, so long as it was to a foreign parent, he wont be NBC by that definition.
I find this amusing. To paraphrase you...
Hence ... if not Honolulu, where?
Hence ... if not Vatel, whom?
Meaning, where did the idea of natural born citizen come from if not Vatel? The FF didn't just pull it out of a hat and it had to come before the cases you cited.
Remember..."Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that."

So the progressive and Geo Soros infiltration is nothing to worry about in your book?

…and why are you so angry?

Would it not be better to light of day shine on all the rats…

I've not said that so don't imply that I have.

…and why are you so angry?
Have you assumed I'm angry because I use emphasis in my writing? Do you speak in a monotonous voice or do you put emphasis on some words?
Why are you trying to get people to stop focusing on this? You obviously have no problem covering several issues at the same time so why can't others do the same?

Would it not be better to light of day shine on all the rats…
Okay, you shine your flashlight to the left and I'll shine my flashlight to the right. We'll cover more territory that way.

I can only assume that there are 2 things at work here

1: Actual people on the Right that believe that those of us in the ‘birther’ ranks are creating a problem by our actions that will be a determent overall to their favored ‘solution’ to ousting Obama (legally of course)

2: lib/Dem types claiming to be Right wingers that wish to spread confusion and stop any discussion that could lead to discoveries/information that could cause a problem for the Divine one.

You are 100% correct What is the problem if we do our thing? For the second group, who cares? For the first, they might as well deal with it because we aren’t going away.

“Economic Liberty and the Constitution”
An Online Town Hall April 16, 2011

The erosion of private property rights, a prodigious federal debt, and a nearly incomprehensible tax code
are all part of an overweening administrative state that today threatens the liberty of all Americans. Join
Hillsdale College for an “Online Town Hall” where together we seek a path back to the Constitution.

10:00 – 10:15 a.m. “Choosing Liberty”: Welcome and Introduction

EDT The Honorable Mike Pence, U.S. Representative, Sixth District of Indiana

Today citizens must choose whether they will live as citizens, or subjects.

10:15 – 11:15 a.m. “How Our Economic Liberty Has Been Diminished”

EDT Dr. Paul Moreno, Grewcock Chair in Constitutional History, Hillsdale College

Economic liberty was revered by the Founding Fathers, who enshrined its principles in the Constitution. A hundred years ago, those tenets were attacked by the Progressives, who saw property rights as the protection of special interests, and our Constitution’s structure as an impediment to progress as they defined it.

11:15 – 11:30 a.m. Break
EDT
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. “How Our Economic Liberty Can Be Restored

EDT Dr. Larry P. Arnn, President, Hillsdale College
Economic liberty can be restored as decisively as it has been lost, but a restoration of constitutional principles cannot happen without citizen understanding and vigilant defense of the principles of the Declaration of
Independence and Constitution.

Larry P. Arnn is the twelfth president of Hillsdale College. He received his B.A. from Arkansas State University,

and his M.A. and Ph.D. in government from the Claremont Graduate School. Formerly the director of research for
Sir Martin Gilbert, the official biographer of Winston Churchill, at Worcester College, Oxford University, Dr. Arnn
was from 1985-2000 president of the Claremont Institute. He is the author of Liberty and Learning: The Evolution
of American Education.

Paul Moreno, the Grewcock Chair in Constitutional History, Associate Professor of History, Kirby Center Senior
Fellow, and Dean of Faculty at Hillsdale College, earned his B.A. and M.A. at the State University of New York at
Albany, and his Ph.D. in history from the University of Maryland at College Park. A James Madison Fellow at
Princeton University in 2005-2006, his most recent book is Black Americans and Organized Labor: A New History.

The Honorable Mike Pence, a lifelong Hoosier, represents the sixth congressional district of Indiana. A national
advocate for limited government, he has opposed bailouts,
government takeovers, and runaway federal spending
throughout his six terms in Congress. Formerly the House Republican Conference Chairman, he was, prior to his
election to Congress 2000, president of the Indiana Policy Review Foundation. Congressman Pence received a B.A.
from Hanover College, and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law.

Are you trying to tell me that I need to watch this to garner an understanding of the issues being discussed or that I might find it informative?
From the line up and subject matters it looks more like a lecture than a town hall meeting.

I'll just wait for the transcripts.

An aside...
I actually believe it is THE central issue which should have been addressed by those challenging Obama's legitimacy, and that it is an open question as to exactly what the phrase means.
It's the little things in life...
Obama's legitimacy vs Obama's eligibility.

I did not respond to the points you raised because they are not my positions. They are positions that you are trying to assign to me and positions I have not raised. Im not trying to argue with you. I do find it incredible that in one breath you would acknowledge the media is effective for disseminating a position and in the same breath say it should not be used. But this discussion was about Beck and his comments that focusing on the birth certificate issue over others is a misuse of our resources.

Who is Beck to be telling anyone what to do with their "resources"?
If he was your boss or owned you I might understand allowing another to control your resources...
You're not an employee or a slave/indentured servant, are you?

When I said you didn’t “address” my points means you didn’t try to refute them! You didn’t tell me how I am wrong! Because you can’t.

Since when is Beck or any other MSM person “our” resources? First of all, you think me or any other Constitutionalist can influence Beck? Who does influence Beck? Whoever he chooses to get influenced by, most likely the man who signs his checks. They say “Don’t touch that issue”, so he won’t touch it.

I wonder what you think “our” resources, in connection with the MSM, you mean.

And for the love of all that is holy, it’s not merely the birth certificiate issue! It’s eveyrthing that he is lying about! It’s his eligibility.

I am starting to really wonder about you. “Our” resoureces - like the MSM is a resources of you and your friends? It’s owned and controlled by freaking leftists! What anyone says on FR doens’t influence them! They’re in 0h0mo’s and his fellow leftists’ pockets for crying out loud.
