In my exclusive interview with President Barack Obama, the president acknowledged that Democrats are going to bear the "burden" of extending the national debt limit later this spring and he explained for the first time that only when he became president did he understand why his 2006 Senate vote against raising the debt limit was wrong:
George Stephanopoulos: Youve got to extend the debt limit by May. And it seems like you made up the job-- your job is a lot tougher because of your vote in the Senate against extending the debt limit When did you realize that vote was a mistake?
President Obama: I think that its important to understand the vantage point of a Senator versus the vantage point of a
President. When youre a Senator, traditionally whats happened is this is always a lousy vote. Nobody likes to be tagged as having increased the debt limit for the United States by a trillion dollars
As President, you start realizing, "You know what? We-- we cant play around with this stuff. This is the full faith in credit of the United States." And so that was just a example of a new Senator, you know, making what is a political vote as opposed to doing what was important for the country. And Im the first one to acknowledge it.

Jesus, if they dont rip him to shreds for that quote alone.
It was political.
That's a relief.
Is Georgie’s arm sore from lobbing those softballs to Barry?
surprised he didn’t vote present on that one too...
So right out of the gate this guy was corrupted by the process rather than the usual other way around...rather than being an altruistic, bright-eyed congressman/senator who is going to fix the country and then being corrupted by the system; he was already corrupt and just got worse.
This guy is such a drag on our country.
i know, Georgie boy thinks he’s some great journo, he’s not and Obama, such a rookie.
They won’t touch him for that comment. That’s way if it comes up later, he will say that’s old news, let’s look forward.
BINGO.
He admits that it took him to be President to take things seriously. Being a Senator must not matter much, since he says he was basically just screwing around.
Georgie had a wide open door to follow up with Obomba on that “it was political” comment, and he did not, at least according to what is posted at the link.
The media is going to glorify him for making that statement. It is sickening.
“When did you realize that vote was a mistake?”
I hope everyone who voted for him is doing just this every time they look at this buffoon.
"I voted for it before I voted against it."
yup, he’s trying to innoculate himself from attack, lets just keep reminding him though he’s a total moron.
“Jesus, if they dont rip him to shreds for that quote alone.”
The affirmative action hire in the White Hut gets a pass on everything.
He ran for President when he was still a new Senator. So, applying simple logic, Obama, by his own admission, was too inexperienced to be President. No one, even most Republicans, will connect the dots for the imbeciles in the electorate.
Who’s going to ram it down his throat? Romney? Huckabee? Whoever runs against him will be no better than mccain.
Wow, did Georgie wipe off his chin when he got up off of his knees?
Everything this POS does is for his political benefit. His ego will not allow himself to let the country come first, never ever.
“”And so that was just a example of a new Senator, you know, making what is a political vote as opposed to doing what was important for the country. And Im the first one to acknowledge it.”
Jesus, if they dont rip him to shreds for that quote alone.”
He’s so courageous /swoon.....gag
