MADISON, Wis. A judge has dismissed one of three lawsuits filed challenging Wisconsin's divisive law restricting collective bargaining rights.
Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi on Thursday dismissed the lawsuit filed by Democratic Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk saying she does not have standing to bring the action. The judge says state law forbids an agency or arm of government like a county to challenge the constitutionality of state laws.
Another lawsuit brought by the Dane County district attorney remains. In that case, Sumi blocked enactment of the law earlier this month while she considers whether state open meetings law was violated in the process of passing the bill.

Remember the good old days when they'd wait till the first or second paragraph to start their leftist spin?
I question this judge’s standing, considering how her son is a union puke.
AP take your divisive article and shove it.
So far this insane judge is beating the hell out of us. Where is Walker’s team guts. Kick this judge off the bench.
No bias there.
I suspect they were waiting for the SC vote. Had they lost, they they would have passed the bill again. Sumi’s actions were politicall motivated, and unconstitutional, but to do so would have given them credibility. Walker maintains she had NO right to act...unless she reverses, he can appeal her decision to the SC...I think that Sumie is now looking for any way to back down off the ledge..
Bingo — they have become brazen and shameless.
The rats knew the vote was coming so they fled in disgrace.
They knew for 20 plus days.
The fleabaggers are gyping the voters of thier mandate.
Nobody finds the judges ruling a little contradictory on the second point, when it contradicts her legal explanation of the first point?
Wait, I thought the Walker administration had petitioned the Wisconsin Supreme Court to throw out Sumi’s ruling and allow the new collective bargaining law and its provisions to move forward.
Hard to believe a conservative leaning court wouldn’t find what Sumi is doing to be utterly outrageous. I wonder why they are refusing to intervene? Is it because the court is waiting for the outcome of the Prosser race to become final?
If the Wisconsin Supreme Court doesn’t get involved, it seems to me that Walker’s collective bargaining legislation will never become law as liberal court judges will just find reasons to keep it tied up in court.
Sumi is a left wing partisan hack.
In the end, she’ll help out her union friends.
Walker should just ignore her.
If she squawks then send the National Guard to her chambers and arrest her for obstructing official state business.
Its time for executives to tell these idiots in robes to stay out of the way and keep their noses out of government.
(Hey...it worked for Lincoln....)

I totally agree. I just called Senate Pres Scott Fitzgerald's office, and told them the same. I asked why doesn't Scott Walker simply declare that judge Shtmi has no legislative or judicial standing (use her words) in this case, and that the law will proceed with implementation as it was duly passed. Also I asked why in the heck doesn't the GOP controlled Senate & Assembly file impeachment proceedings against this liberal bastard for gross misdemeanors & judicial misconduct, including conflict of interest by not recusing herself when her brat son is a ranking official with some thuggish WI union.
“I just called Senate Pres Scott Fitzgerald’s office, and told them the same.”
What was their response?
Just the obligatory “thank you for calling”?
Pretty much... but at least I was able to vent to a sympathetic ear.
Just like this morning I called Rep Paul Ryan's office in Washington DC, and ranted for 10 min about a whole series of topics, including my hatred of RAT bastard socialist 0dumbo, the commie pig-in-chief. And pretty much used those descriptive terms. Again, at least the young man on the other end listened & was sympathetic. I think that Paul Ryan is at least trying to do the right thing, and swimming upstream against 80 years of systematic socialist-communism & compliant socialist leaning presidents.... pretty much ALL of them for the last 110 yrs or so. Unfortunately and sad for our side, is that 0dumbo seems to be only one who has made the most effective use of his bully pulpit to ramrod through his socialist programs. GW Bush was a complete failure, in effect, because he is a big spending, pandering, global new world order type of guy.
