Get set for a constitutional crisis in America. Its not a certainty, but its certainly a possibility following the decision of the Arizona state senate to enact a measure to require a presidential candidate to present a birth certificate before he or she can get listed on the presidential ballot in the Grand Canyon State. It comes at the start of a presidential campaign in which President Obama is brushing aside demands that he authorize the release of an original certificate of his birth at Hawaii. This is the issue that Donald Trump has been trying to stir up at a national level, and Arizona is not the only state looking at such a law. So we may yet be confronted with the question in respect of who gets to decides ballot access in the presidential contest.
It happens that this is dealt with in the Constitution. It is in section 1 of Article II, which sets up the presidency and requires that the president be a natural born citizen. It also sets up the electoral college. After the fiasco that paired John Adams as president and Thos. Jefferson as vice president, the 12th amendment was brought in to streamline the electoral college. But the method of choosing electors was unchanged. It says that they shall be appointed by each state in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct . . . The only restriction the Constitution puts on what the states can do is that no senator or representative or person holding an office of Trust under the United States can be made an elector...

Undoubtedly Eric Holder’s Justice Department will sue to have the law overturned.
It should also be specific enough to pin the weasel down, for instance specifying that the document must include an address of birth or something that will ensure that the COLB fraud doesn’t pass muster.

Nah. Some leftist judge will simply overrule the law when passed. Naturally, they will not have the Constitutional AUTHORITY to DO so, but when has that ever stopped the left.

Get set for a constitutional crisis in America. Oh, you mean the one we've been in for about 100 years since SCOTUS and the government decided to take a hard left turn and trash the Constitution?

I think a lot of Americans feel as I do: Why not just submit the BC and be done with it. The Certificate of Live Birth is really not the same, plus that was submitted by the Obama campaign, leaving Obama legal wiggle room should it come back to haunt him. If he has nothing to hide, why wouldn't he open up all of his past history, from BC to college transcripts, for open inspection. Clearly, one does not spend a fairly large amount of money to sequester one's past unless there is something there he wants to hide. Until he does this, I and a lot of other voters, simply cannot trust him and I sure as hell wouldn't vote for him with this shroud of secrecy hanging over him.

Wait a minute now. I thought Fukino said we couldn't see it.

The Rats will tie this up in court until after the election. The 9th Circuit Court will put on a negative ruling and injunction and the Supreme Court won’t hear it in time..or refuse to take it.

How this country would even consider electing as President
anyone who buried and hid and refused to produce
any of his historical personal records is criminal negligence at best.
When you decide to run for President of the United States, you accept that there is no more "private" information on your past. Either the American people get to scour it with a microscope to determine if you're the guy they want, or you're not the guy.
Period.

That would likely be the result. But, it would be a huge PR obstacle to overcome for Obama to be reelected. I don't see this issue going away.

Of course the the dems will turn to the courts.
Arizona determines who the electors are to be, though. Pesky thing, that Constitution.

I’ve read on hannity’s forum by Trip in the BC thread that the arizona laws defines NBC citizen as someone born in the US to one citizen parent. How convenient for Obummer. Don’t know if its true but if it is this is not good
To: Plutarch
let’s hope AZ and OK step up to the plate and get these bills passed. no more stalling...

Does the arizona law, if passed actually make obama show a long form or will the short form be passable?

The dihimmiCrats now have an out
The dihms now MUST dispose of MaoBama, lest their entire house is washed away
If they can cut the DearReader loose and nominate someone else, then they avoid the fraud charges that should soon follow.
I believe that the Left has added up what they achieved and pat themselves on the back for making it this far. Then, the DearReader is tossed under the bus, only to be replaced by another that will build upon MaoBama's "success".

in addition to this law, AZ should keep bambi off of the PRIMARY ballot. That would move the issue up to the spring where there is time for the courts to deal with it.
The courts will grant a stay on this law and it will be in the courts until after NOV ‘12.
