This past weekend, as has become someting of a pattern, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) accused (via Twitter) me and other gun rights advocates of "insurrection" and "treason." This, despite the fact that there doesn't seem to be any "insurrection" going on in the U.S., and the fact that the Constitution's necessarily extremely narrow definition of "treason" can't possibly be applied to stating the obvious fact that the Second Amendment exists as the last bulwark against tyranny.
Much of the weekend's debate was about Professor Robert Churchill's (author of the excellent To Shake Their Guns in the Tyrant's Face) contention that during the FBI's standoff with the Montana Freemen in 1996, the FBI was persuaded to wait the Freemen out (the Freemen eventually surrendered peacefully), because various militia groups had told them that another bloody paramilitary raid, like Ruby Ridge or Waco, would have resulted in equally bloody militia retaliation against law enforcement officers all over the country (the "No More Free Wacos" doctrine). . Prof. Churchill made that point in a debate with CSGV's Josh Horwitz in 2009 (short video clip).
Despite naming themselves based on their supposed opposition to "gun violence," CSGV repeatedly made clear their belief that the militia's warnings, which prevented "gun violence," were themselves "treason." I was among several gun rights advocates on Twitter who strongly disagreed. CSGV then came back, oddly enough, with the implication that my satisfaction over the avoidance of violence in the Freemen incident was somehow "racist," because (supposedly) I wouldn't extend the same understanding to criminals involved in "urban violence." How CSGV intends to come up with a plausible parallel between "urban violence," and the militias' successful deterrence of violence is a question for another day.

I wonder how many people outside the close-knit CSGV group reads their twitter feeds.
I’m not excusing their lying liar ways, just wondering how many actual people are exposed to their stinking piles of dung.

Are the lefties saying that all "urban violence" is the result of a single racial group and that if you're opposed to "urban violence" you're opposed to a specific race? Are they saying one racial group is genetically predisposed to "urban violence"? Which group are they saying that about? (Just curious.)
” Which group are they saying that about?”
Holder’s “People” would be my guess.
Oh! Sorry! THAT’S ......
The anti’s are nothing more than hate groups. They spread fear and rhetoric in an attempt at infringing on Civil Rights. They are no better than the KKK or the Nazi’s.
The Democrat rant assumes non Democrats favor corporate governance. The fact is, the corporations fuel the democrat money machine. The corporations are on the Democrats side.
The individual citizen is really pretty unrepresented.
Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Yeah, like theyre people out there FOR Gun violence?
That is just like when the Left comes out for Clean Air like there are some that WANT dirty air.
Think about it, Statistics and logic show that since Criminals (By definition) dont obey the laws, and wont disarm no matter what you do, THE BEST WAY to Prevent Gun Violence is with the deterrent effect of having people armed.
But that isnt what they want, is it?
In fact they want to disarm the law-abiding and this will encourage Gun Violence.
Question: Is this by design or sheer stupidity?
{Please note the current trend of asking that question of most things Left is doing these days,}
This (and linked articles) inspired a new tagline...
THEY are allowed to be as racist and race-oriented as they please.
But we can’t even point out their racism without being accused of being racists ourselves.
“But we cant even point out their racism without being accused of being racists ourselves.”
A bit like the pot calling the kettle....
Ooops. There I go again.
