What happened to the campaign promise of $100 billion? radio host Rush Limbaugh demanded Monday. If $38 billion is it, theres going to be hell to pay, he predicted.
At 12:40 last Saturday morning, 28 GOP House members voted against the deal that House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid and President Obama had announced barely two hours earlier. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert, Iowa Rep. Steve King, Florida Rep. Connie Mack, Michigan Rep. Thaddeus McCotter and South Carolina Rep. Tim Scott were among the Houses 28 conservative GOP and pro-Tea Party luminaries who turned their thumbs down on the pact to reduce spending by $38.5 billion (or $79 billion below President Obamas budget request) and avoid a government shutdown. In their view, it did not cut deeply enough.
Meanwhile, political strategist Dick Morris wants apocalypse now.
We need to purify our party and purge it of the likes of John Boehner and all those congressmen who vote for the budget sellout, wrote Bill Clintons former campaign consultant turned conservative agitator. The Tea Party must take the lead in this purifying fire.
While neither Mr. Boehners speakership nor the House GOP majoritys functionality seems in jeopardy, it is time to fuse rather than widen these fissures on the right. Instead of splitting the Republican conference and the broader free-market and Tea Party movements by violating last falls promise to cut this years budget by $100 billion, the GOP should find the money to keep its pledge to slice at least $61 billion (the pro-rated share of $100 billion for the portion of fiscal 2011 spending actually under Republican control).
Heres how to do it:

Remove poseurs, John Boehner and Eric Cantor, from their (non) leadership positions.
this GOP will do what they are told and nothing else, and they are not told by us
A good and essential start anyway.
i will not vote for a rino.
period.
i’ve voted for the “least evil” all my life.
no more.
Preach it!
If not with this debacle, I agree that there are a lot of people considering the possibility of going third party now. I know I am. If all is lost and it takes years to get a third party rolling, maybe we ought to just get going and start it now.
The GOP is committing suicide and maybe we just just step away and let it happen.
But I'm still not sure.
this sounds like a good idea
Rush was hoping to get back the Republican Party from the RINOS. It looks bad.
So was Sarah. (Me too.) But right now it is looking grim. I don't know what to think. It's quite depressing.
‘The GOP is committing suicide and maybe we just just step away and let it happen. ‘
Yep, look what happened in 2008 when people stepped away. The reason the GOP is so lame is because too few people are involved. Instead of sitting on FR and whining about how bad the GOP is, get involved with your local committees. Help improve the system.
All sitting out of the election will do is lead to another BO. You have a duty to vote and to be involved, otherwise you get what you deserve.
Why? Because the Democrat Party and Republican Party are controlled behind the scenes by the same people, Global Socialists, One Worlders, or what other they are given.
The Democrat Party got rid of Conservatives. The Republican Party absorbs and neutralizes them.
If the Conservative movement is to survive, they must separate themselves from the Republican Party. Else they will be absorbed and neutralized.
‘If the Conservative movement is to survive, they must separate themselves from the Republican Party. Else they will be absorbed and neutralized. “
History proves otherwise, 3rd parties can determine who loses an election but lack the strength to win an election.
THE PEOPLE should announce that we have decided to downsize.
Layoff half of the 435 in the House of Representatives and all of their staff. Cut the staff of the remaining Representatives by half.
Layoff half of the 100 Senators and all of their staff. Cut the staff of the remaining Senators by half.
Announce that all travel by Congressmen and Senators outside of the United States will no longer be paid for by American taxpayers.
This would be a great place to begin.
