If you wonder whether Donald Trump is serious about running for president, tune in to the finale of The Celebrity Apprentice on May 15.
Trump plans to say on the NBC show that he will be holding a press conference in the next few days. At that press conference in the Trump Tower in New York, Trump will be announcing his candidacy for the presidency.
Even then, many will snicker that its all a publicity stunt. But that defies the facts and common sense.
Of all the people on the planet, Donald Trump is the last person who needs more publicity. And if he is riding a groundswell of support, why would heor anyone elsedecide not to run?
Since writing the first story in January to report that Trump will definitely run, I have been amazed at how much the idea of a Trump presidency is catching on across the political spectrum. As I wrote in my story, Dont Underestimate Donald Trump for President, he can be outrageous and boastful. But when it comes to a successful run at the presidency, dont count him out.

I think Americans are ready to violently vomit due the usual conga-line of lying government insiders and career government politicians.
Zactly. Only a rich man would say that, Donald Perot.
LOL! Good one!
It is also from years back..some 10 or more..not the couple of weeks you wrote. Sorry, but being for the UN in principal and for limited gun laws is not far left. You guys always pull stuff from years ago.
China will do a quiet campaign against him.
I agree. You know, we voted in 2010 and we won Congress. Boehner could call for hearings on this just like the democrats ordered hearings on McCain's eligibility (for having been born in Panama on a US Military base). I don't think we can blame the American people for their doubts that the President of the United States is legit.
There is a way for this to be a non-issue in 2012. And that's to verify Obama's eligibility right now. I mean, that's not asking for much. It's only been 3 years. Why wait? Look! This would not have been an issue and Trump would not be as high in the polls that he is now if:
#1) It were taken care of before Obama became President
or
#2) It were taken care of once the Republicans gained control of Congress.
The longer Boehner takes to bring up this issue, the more dug in Trump gets on this and other issues as a candidate.
My preference would be to solve this issue now, suck the air out of trump's balloon and nominate a conservative to run against Obama or Biden.
But this is not Trump issue. This is a Constitutional issue (even if all records are fine and legit). Obama's failure to prove his eligibility opens doors for people like Arnold. Heck, George Soros could be eligible now. Why? Because the new precedence is "American until proven otherwise".
This is a Constitutional issue. And to me the US Constitution trumps all political ideology. Because without the Constitution nothing else matters.
You have to admit the only reason you like him is because of his birther views.
Trump is about as conservative as any of the RINOs currently serving in Wahington.
You want somebody who can “negotiate a deal”? Any sports agent will do. Somebody who can run a business? Hmmm... many of the most successful businessmen right now are huge libs.
No thanks on Trump.
I swear to G-d, we’ve become a nation of irredeemable celebrity-obsessed mushbrains. An important announcement regarding the 2012 presidential race is going to be made on NBC’s “The Apprentice”. If that’s not the two-minute warning for this terminally silly country, I don’t know what the hell is.
Get ready for another four years Obi Wan Nairobi squatting in your White House. And never forget, America only gets the government she deserves.
I like that he gets into Obama’s face (the BC is one way he is doing that, but he has directly called Obama on the rug), I like the way he handles MSM (he takes the jabs and then gives them a knock out punch) and I like the way he negotiates.
So far there is no conservative who has caught on or who has the balls to attack Obama head on. We will once again be stuck with milquetoast.
Me too... don't want him as a President, though.
IF he does run as an independent then the Dems win FOR SURE. Trump is in the catbird seat and he knows it!
He would be destroyed by his personal life and bankruptcies and the only purpose a run by Trump either as a Republican or 3rd party would have is to give the democrats a sure victory, his biggest democrat donation ever.
Dump the DEA too. They can’t win their “War on Drugs”, so they go after doctors now. There are bad apples in every profession; still, good doctors are being imprisoned. There are 70 million chronic pain patients. Many are untreated or undertreated because doctors are afraid to prescribe narcotics.
Look at the change when the Rat Congress took over in 2006. Bambi has a lot of nerve trying to hang it all on George Bush, as he did in his speech tonight.
And, if Donald Trump does, eventually, runs as an Independent candidate for ‘12 POTUS, then Barack Obama will, probably, be re-elected in ‘12! How much do all of the present pro-Donald Trump supporters and present pro-Donald Trump voters like that?
Ronald Reagan also proposed getting rid of Jimmuh’s DoE during the first campaign as well. Just sayin’ . . . . .
Not me. I've had it with career politicians that we've had since forever. They've broken this country to the point where it would take a 50-100% tax rate get us solvent again, they've left the borders wide open for the past 40 years or more, they're ALL politically correct, they've allowed over 50 million babies to be killed, they've allowed the arabs and others to get their hands at America's throat with an insane or non-existent energy policy that not only doesn't allow us to drill our own oil but even FORBIDS it and the list goes on and on.
What? Trump's going to do worse??? Comeon for God's sake!!
Give me a Trump/Palin I'd vote for them in a second!
Man y'all are shallow!
Haven't we had enough of these posers? Case and point: Arnold and California, Ventura and Minnesota.
I don't like the career politicians either. But I dislike posers, RINOs, and elitists more.
