White House Senior Advisor David Plouffe yesterday suggested that Donald Trump is a “sideshow” with “zero chance” of being elected President. Plouffe likely expected that there was “zero chance” Trump would hear such remarks and not be eager to retaliate, which of course he did
Trump’s response on Fox & Friends this morning:
“Obviously I hit a nerve because they’re fighting me I don’t hear them talking about Mr. Pawlenty or anybody else. They’re talking only about Trump. And I can tell you, I’m their worst nightmare. I am not the person that they want to run against. And they know it and I know it.”Even more enjoyable than hearing a potential presidential candidate refer to themselves by their own last name, is how seamlessly Trump transitions from suggesting Obama is doing a “terrible job” to discussing how great Celebrity Apprentice was last night and how shocked he is that Gary Busey survived another week. And another week of the Trump “sideshow” begins.

If this had been SP that was attacked by the stain's spokespeople, and had she defended herself against these personal and degrading attacks, the anti-SP folks on FR and elsewhere would have gone ballistic!
Screams of "she's so lame" and "it's always about her" and "she needs to get a thicker skin" and "she needs to grow up" and "with her, it's always me, me, me" and the like would have echoed from the rooftops.
But when Trump does it, it becomes a valiant and well respected self defense.
What's the diff???
It seems everyone on the democrats side is coming out to tell trump that obama is a natural born citizen. In fact they have done everything they can...
Except show the BC.
I have always been a Trump fan because of his bravado. This is precisely why he was so successful in business.
NY Real Estate is about as tough a business as there is, and he dominated it. I have read his “Art of the Deal” books. He is very bold.
He’s not my first choice for POTUS, but I love the fact that he is just telling it like it is about Obama. He’s not being a politician at all.
Unknown columnists from small town papers (I posted one from Enid OK this morning) are getting national exposure writing about The Donald/Obama bout...and this is just the beginning.
You can only imagine how worried the WH is.
Trump loves the publicity (all publicity is good publicity) but it is killing Obama. And to make matters worse, there is nothing they can do to stop it. Even if Obama were to release his birth certificate, Trump would move on to the matter of his sealed transcripts or his drilling embargo or his Pakistan visit in college.
There are plenty of anti DT on FR doing exactly what you describe the anti SP folks would be doing if it were her.

What a perfectly insightful paragraph. The Trump sideshow is more than worth the price of admission. Politics hasn't been this much fun in quite awhile. I hope he keeps them all guessing for a long time to come and just launches a few new jabs at the obamessiah every week. It's awesome.
The diff is that Trump dared go where NO republican or even talk radio went. He pretty much called obama a fraud and asked to see his papers. That’s big. It takes guts to take on the prez with such a direct challenge. He’s my hero for sure.
This will be fun.
