Well, in my book, the absolute best way to improve productivity is to remove the tax and redistribution of wealth uncertainties that prevent businesses from putting people back to work. And that does not include working for the Federal government.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what the stimulus package was supposed to do?

Soros said the U.S. should spend money on building infrastructure or improving producitivity.

That was what some of those earlier bail-outs were for. Remember 'shovel ready jobs'? Where did all that money go? Much of it went to pay off crony groups and various unions and supportive companies.

"Building infrastructure" sounds good, but so far the Obama Admin has built little infrastructure.

In a related story, Soros has invited all branches of government and the media to a Kool-Aide party. Everyone who’s anyone will be there.

Don’t even think about it. Do exactly the opposite of what the chief Communist Soros says and you’ll be on the right track. Guaranteed.

Japan has been building “infrastructure” for twenty years.
Their stock market has not had real returns for twenty years.
We have had only ten years of no real returns.

The dollar is dying and these bozos think taxing us more will fix it.

The debt is ALREADY UNSUSTAINABLE. We will be toast, and so will the dollar.

The stimulus money was given to foreign banks. Soros and his Democrat hoods are not what America needs. Soros needs to move to where he cam be most comfortable. Any other nation will do

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what the stimulus package was supposed to do? "

I think the stimulus package was mostly wasted on non-infrastructure projects. A lot of which simply started government programs that did nothing for the economy and which would need additional future funding. That and research dollars wasted on green energy projects that highly unlikely to ever be viable in the first place.

I agree with Soros, that we could and probably should absorb some more debt to help bring down unemployment and build some needed infrastructure like additional nuclear plants.

But at this point, I don't trust congress and Obama not to waste it again. And a stimulus plan doesn't need to distract from downsizing the long-term structure of government.

They shouldn't build more roads, until fuel prices come down. Unless there is presently significant congestion. And the road can be clearly justified by saving existing commuters time and money.

Programs that automate gov't functions, put government forms on the internet and allow the layoff of government workers would be good projects.

"The stimulus money was given to foreign banks. "

I don't think any of the stimulus money went to foreign banks. Though there was some money that went to foreign companies, like the cash for clunkers program, that resulted in a bumb in foreign car sales.

You're thinking of TARP loans and the emergency loans made by the FED at the peak of the crisis. Those are different. And they were made to foreign banks but banks that had a presence in the U.S. and that stored reserves with the Federal Reserve. And most if not all of those loans have been repaid. Those were loans they weren't just give aways.
