I am confused. Is this to stop the almost newly recognized country of Palestine from shooting missiles at Israeli school buses?

We live in bizzaro-world. Palestinians rape and murder Israeli’s - including babies. Shoot missiles at a school bus. Launch daily attacks on Israel. And THEY want a no fly zone?
This was a bait and switch by the Arab League. They got Libya knowing they were going for Israel.
Much violence will arrive next month. In May the Palestinians are starting “day of rage” - leading up to the U.N. vote to recognize their statehood.
The wave of freedom is coming to what will soon be Palestine.
That is how they see all of this and that is what is happening.

What happens when Hamas violates the no-fly zone by firing rockets into Israel?

You are not confused. The actions in Libya by Obama and the UN were a necessary actrion to establishment the precedent of “protecting a nation’s citizens from their own government”. Now it will be easier to take the UN into Israel under the same protocol - this time to “protect” the Palestinian citizens.
However, I think the French will find enforcing a no-fly zone over Gaza to be much more difficult than enforcing one over Tripoli. The Israeli Air Force is one of the finest on thr globe and their pilots are fearless.

Assuming you're actually serious about being confused: no, it's to force Israel to passively sit there and take it. No matter what the Palis throw at them.

Killing the jooz is part of the un charter. They tried to put them in one spot, Israel was created by the un, and now they want them dead.

I’m not sure that it is necessary for Israel to fly over Gaza to get much of it’s work done.

Arab League to ask UN to implement no-fly zone over Gaza And what nation or group of nations is lining up to sacrifice their air forces or naval air forces for this? What a frigging joke.
I have an idea, why don't the arabs just enforce their own "no fly zone" over Gaza. They have enough planes. What was the IAF score against Syria a few years ago? Well, maybe the arabs don't have enough planes (targets).

Sure, then Israel can get some arty practice hitting the targets that need hitting. Israel must have some tubes that need warmed up and dusted off.

I’m certain the aerial vehicles that will be prevented from flying in the Gaza zone will also include the unmanned, missile type. /sarc
