Boston Mayor Thomas Menino KOs Soda, OKs Alcohol
Published April 10, 2011 | FoxNews.com
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has banned soda, sports drinks and sweetened ice teas from city property, according to a recent government press release.
In an attempt to reduce the citys rising obesity rates, Menino has banned all sugary drinks from city vending machines, cafeterias and concession stands, just one day after reaching an agreement with the Boston Red Sox that allows the team to sell mixed drinks at its ballpark.
I want to create a civic environment that makes the healthier choice the easier choice in peoples lives, whether its schools, work sites, or other places in the community," said Menino in the press release issued last week about the soda ban.

Morons on parade.
The tax on soda doesn’t outweigh the costs of forced “free” government health care needed apparently.
Ming the Merciless would be proud.
I suppose this why I roll my eyes and laugh nowadays when people expound upon how wonderful America still is.
Whasamattathisguy?
Fat and stupid is no way to go through life....
Bostonians Suicide Watch
(If the sugary stuff doesn’t get them first)
Freedom dies whenever a politician thinks like this.
I like what I heard Dennis Prager say this week....BAN alcohol, APPROVE cigarettes.....who causes more trouble? Smokers or Drinkers? As far as “fat” food...man cannot live on non-fat food alone....these idiots need to have their salaries stopped...vote ‘m outta office!!!
Low blood sugar. This is why the Red Sox are losing.
(( ping ))
Screw Boston - - those simpletons deserve exactly what they elect.
Mayor Menino has a constitutional right to be STUPID. He has NO right to force his stupidity on the citizens of Boston.

Which is it, from city property (meaning employees or citizens with business could not bring their own) or from sale on city properties? Or both?
Copy editors and proofreaders must be hard to get.
Yeah, off to bad start.......
Seems Mumbles wants the people to have no choice at all. Another small step towards totalitarianism.
I’m sure Massachusetts Democrats are very happy for this and are thanking Lord Menino for protecting them.
