Something strange is going on. Boehner is getting all the credit. Reid’s speech looked like he was grinding his teeth through the speech amid the concessions. Obama looked weak as well. Strange, very strange. The Democrats think they’ve lost! And I think the GOP caved! So WTF?

The way it is being spun on Chicago news right now, it looks like a prelude to the 2012 campaign. The newsreaders are reading a litany of the awful things that would have happened if the government had shut down. Already had a interview ready with a soldier’s wife, worried about how she was going to pay the bills....then O comes on with his prepared speech. They are making it look like he just displayed some strong leadership and averted a crisis....sickening..

Moreover, Reid will LOSE to the votes on PP and EPA in the Senate. So you think the pp and epa votes will pass the senate?

‘Boehner: “This is the best deal we could get out of them.”’
I’d prefer to hear one of the Dems say that, because it would show that the Dems lost, not Boehner.
However, I will reserve my judgment until I hear more.

And the longer such a shutdown lasts, the clearer it will become to the taxpayers how much the DONT NEED ALL THAT SPENDING!!!! The taxpayers already know that! Unfortunately, half of the county pays no taxes, and they are the half that put Barry in office. Do you think a prolonged shutdown will turn them into Tea Party supporters?

LBoehner is a TRAITOR to America. He and his minions just agreed to the Federal government continuing to use our tax dollars to pay the butchers bill for sucking babies brains into a steel sink. He doesnt deserve the title Speaker. He deserves the title Obama A** Kisser. What a POS!! You all have been taken -AGAIN & AGAIN. I have emphatically said that our side will blink. It is obvious of it. TOTAL REVOLUTION NEEDS TO BE DONE STARTING TOMORROW. NOTHING LESS IS WORTH LIVING HERE.

No, it is you that are clueless...So Reid loses the votes in the Senate on the PP rider, so what? It won't become law. I'm tired of people like you and your Karl Rove go along to get along Republican bureaucratic fantasy land establishment crap. You've learned nothing from history. “The big battles are yet to come”. This should have been a big battle, but pansies like you won't stand up and make it one.

What a linguine spine. We will never gain the attention of the corrupt spenders if we don’t kick them instead of tickling them.

“Whens he going to bring up little Sally Muckenfutch and the effect the shutdown would have had on her?”
Well, he just used the DC class trip from Colorado to stress the importance of funding the government!
Just how stupid does he think we are? I’m sick and tired of these idiots trotting out some kid or minority or single mother to pull at our heartstrings and convince us to commit fiscal suicide. Followed by obliterating any future for our children, and their children!

Either we shut down the government on our own, or we submit to their authority. In 2012, the same old story, same old song and dance. The ballot box will no longer ever be the answer to salvaging what is left of our freedoms in this country, IMO. YES YES YES!

You know the answer. The problem is, there are not enough people ready, willing and able to do what is necessary. I’m sure you’re aware of that as well.

Yes, both the EPA and PP riders will pass the Senate. Reid lost this as well - because he didn’t want ANY vote on these riders.

Reid folded on the riders? No he didnt. None of them are going to become law. The Senate will vote on them, that is all. We dont need any more symbolic votes. They had a much better chance getting them into law by putting them in the CR and having the government shut down. The people are with us and this isnt 1995. Why are we negotiating out of weakness. Boehner should simply state, I wont pass any CR without the Obamacare and PP defunding riders, and thats our starting position. Isnt the opposite Obamas starting position? Why cant we negotiate out of strenth, like Obama is doing?
yes yes yes!

Thank you! The Republicans are not in a position to dictate the budget to the Senate and the President, unlike comments I have read here this evening.
So long as the Dems. hold the Senate we have to negotiate. This is especially true while the Senate has RINO members like Collins, Snowe, Graham, Lugar and McCain.
I expect Boehner has been working his tail off, and Reid knows he will have to allow more cuts next year.
We need to keep the heat on.

Of course they were going to cave, the ONLY thing the RINOs care about is keeping their cushy job in D.C., and nothing will ever top that priority.
It didn’t matter what they got, they were going to be accused of caving. Now if they cave for the 2012 budget, we get rid of everyone in the primaries and get the tea party in there.
This did one thing. This ensured that Romney, Bachmann and Huckabee are done.
