This ensured that Romney, Bachmann and Huckabee are done

I'll agree about Romney and the Huckster, but I'd reserve judgement about Bachmann until we see how she votes.

Who will the Tea Parties coalesce around now?

There was a worried soldier’s wife on the Mobile, AL station, too. I wonder how many worried soldiers’ wives were featured on the ten o’clock news across the country? The left finally has a use for the military.

” to accomplish defunding Planned Parenthood is to remove its patrons from the Senate and White House in 2012. “ ==============

There you go. It really is that simple, as you said.

We toss reality with all this caterwalling when we forget that November earned us only one-half of one branch out of three, and that the US Senate remains chucked full of RINO’s among our minority status. What the heck is there to work with I ask? This was near miraculous.

We must endure to the election which will be decided not by us but by Independents who are not purists.

To everyone upset with this "deal", the fight is not over until the real vote (tonight's vote is just a one week extension) next week occurs.

I suggest we all call our congress critters non stop starting tomorrow and (figuratively) put the fear of G-d in them!

Really? If these stories are being told all over the country, then it would appear you are correct!

Operationally, Boehner has placed America in a better position than Obama's posturing a significant threat to freedom. Too many people in these threads and within government have become accustomed to a tardy Congressional budgeting process. Too many assume a tardy appropriations bill will be resolved either in time or by a furlough of finite length, followed by a remuneration of hard working government employees after the Congressional debate is concluded.

Consider for a moment, an enemy of the US, who has been postured into a position of leadership, controlling the Executive Branch of the government, who has conspired with other machinations on a planned agenda to either destroy te Constitution, or continue to take resources from the nation while weakening its worldly position.

Consider how a body politic, which had intended the demise of a Constitutional government for decades, finally came into controllable power planned within a decade, and began to prepare their operations during a window of critical vulnerability, generally associated with an outside threat to the US, but instead, measured the resolve of external powers to oppose their internal aggression, and then acted internally without any external intervention.

Such a grouping of malcontents, recognizing financial messes are most easily overcome by declaring bankruptcy and insolvency, than to remain fiduciarily accountable for their behavior, having planned for the financial debaucle of America over a 5 year period, would relish the opportunity to get rich quickly, while the already doomed economy was in their control.

Such a democratic socialist controlled government, would relish the opportunity to run up trillion dollar deficits, because they never had any intention of anybody ever being able to pay it back.

What would be the easiest way of paying the piper?

Simply not being able to resolve anything, throwing their hands up in despair, and letting the existing laws controlling government operation take control, and collapsing the government for them.

IMHO, only a very snide and ruthless leader would allow such things to happen to his nation, but then again, such leadership also has not exhibited moral or ethical virtue when tested in obeying the Constitution in situations such as Libya.

While it might appear lunatic fringe to suggest Obama would allow the US to collapse, it also would be amazingly consistent with his modus vivendi, the world history of key pivotal national moments, and recent international geopolitical events.

In a nutshell, even if Congress approved the budget and next years budget concurrently, does anybody really think Obama wouldn;t use this opportunity to his maniacal advantage?

You’re screen name is the answer. The ballot box is not. The Second Amendment is the only, ONLY, answer at this point, IMO.

At this juncture, I’m not advocating bloodshed, but I have a few suggestions.

First, a million, or better yet, several million armed citizens march into D.C. and stay there until the Federal Government gets the point. While this scenario is both dangerous and volatile, to put your “faith” in the ballot box is laughable, IMO, due to the makeup of our electorate.

Second, cut off all funding to the federal government in any manner possible. Not an easy task, but not impossible.

I’m not pretending to have the answers, but I no longer have any “faith” in the ballot box and to me it seems time to exercise our Second Amendment right in the manner it was “granted” to every American citizen per our founding fathers.

I suppose it’s too late though as I’m still of the opinion that there are not enough patriots left in America to make a stand.

I think failure to do what they were elected to do will convince the majority who voted for the current Congress to start looking for alternatives.

It can be used as a win-win.

First of all, we can expose Obama’s plan to cut off payments to servicemembers while keeping welfare checks rolling, without them rolling over us saying that we wanted to take Gramdma’s check away.

Second, it allows the GOP to save political capital for the 2012 budget fights.

If this is true, then why did the House have to make a deal? THey could do what they wanted with the money. Duh!

"Fox reporting the ban on abortions in DC is IN the deal - and a seperate vote will be held to defund Planned Parenthood."

A separate vote to defund Planned Parenthood is what the DemonRATS wanted. The Senate DemonRATS have no intention of voting to defund Planned Parenthoood. That legislation is dead on arrival when it reaches the Senate and Harry Reid and his Democrat Party flying monkeys in the Senate are probably laughing hysterically at how easy it was to bluff the House leadership. Now they know how far they have to go to get the House leadership to fold like a cheap suit.

I misread your post. All spending starts in the House. In order to get bills passed, however, it has to have approval from the Senate and signed by the President. So, yes, they don’t have to put forth appropriations, but, constitutionally, that is their job.

It’s their job, and their responsibility. They’re the ones who deserve the blame or credit for what funds are, or are not, budgeted. That means what they decide deserves first priority.

And the job of the President and Senate is to veto any spending they feel is unwise. It is NOT their job or responsibility to demand spending that the House is not willing to approve.

"Fox reporting the ban on abortions in DC is IN the deal - and a seperate vote will be held to defund Planned Parenthood."

Which will never happen. It's a simple matter for a fully funded Planned Parenthood to then provide the abortion serices for DC ...

Boehner did the best he could given that the Senate is under the control of Democrats and the President promised a veto.
It’s telling that the President is crowing that he got the biggest budget cut in history. I think we won Round One.
I have a question though—there is a $78.5B reduction in the “accord” and $22B in the pact, according to Reuters. What does that mean?

>>Well, he just used the DC class trip from Colorado to stress the importance of funding the government!<<

Yeah, I think that’s the class that Little Miss Muckenfutch belongs to. These hard-luck, sob stories have always been tiresome when used by the political class, and algore took it to a lower level during the 2000 campaign. Now it’s just brazen and craven... remember the story about the (alleged) story about woman who wore her late sister’s dentures because she couldn’t afford some of her own?

How idiotic do they think we are? Well, you answered that already. Grrrr.
