Huckabee still leading in Iowa (New Neighborhood Research Survey of Likely Caucus-Goers)
The Hill ^ | 04/06/2011

A new Neighborhood Research survey of likely caucus-goers shows Mike Huckabee with a solid advantage in Iowa.

1. Mike Huckabee 21.0%

2. Mitt Romney 13.5%

3. Donald Trump 8.8%

4. Newt Gingrich 7.8%

5. Sarah Palin 6.6%

6. Michele Bachmann 5.3%

7. Tim Pawlenty 4.4%

8. Ron Paul 3.4%

9. Herman Cain 2.5%

10. Rick Santorum 1.3%

Big? Newt Gingrich edges out Sarah Palin. Bigger surprise? So does Trump.

Also, Palin actually does worse among those who attend religious services once/week. In fact, Palin scores twice as well with those who never attend religious services than those who do.

That belies the conventional wisdom that she could clean up among Iowa evangelicals.

Note that Michele Bachmann has vaulted over Tim Pawlenty. T-Paw needs a good Iowa showing to stay in, and that means at least beating Bachmann.

Race WITHOUT HUCKABEE AND PALIN:

1. Mitt Romney 21.0%

2. Newt Gingrich 12.2%

3. Michele Bachmann 6.6%

4. Tim Pawlenty 6.3%

5. Ron Paul 5.6%

6. Herman Cain 2.8%

7. Rick Santorum 1.9%

8. Haley Barbour and Roy Moore .9%

10. Mitch Daniels .6%

This is the most likely field of entrants, and if Romney scores an Iowa victory without much effort, it would bolster him ahead of New Hampshire, where guys like Jon Huntsman will make a play to oust him.

To some people, as long as he’s right on abortion and a preacher, who cares that he is a big spending, pro-amnesty, soft-on-crime nanny-stater?

Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the idiot masses.

We became so fragmented and “determined to prove a point” in ‘08, between Thompson, Hunter, Huckabee, Romney, Giuliani, etc, that the Moderates gave us McNuts instead.

Who else is as tired as I am of Iowa, NH, and the media choosing my nominee? What the heck ails these people?--Huckabee? A pansy who is affable but about as strong as yesterday's cooked noodle.

Iowa went for Obama in 08. I don’t care what they have to say about anything.

Race WITHOUT HUCKABEE AND PALIN:

Then why take Palin out of the equation if she is not a force to be reckoned with?

I tell you the liberals R & D’s alike, are petrified of Palin.

We need people like Ann Barnhardt (Koran burner) to run. Palin comes to mind but I doubt she’s running. I think that’s why her poll numbers are low, the perception that she is not running is taking hold.

Palin is running over 15 points below Obama in a match-up, consistently in most every large national and reputable poll. Huckabee even beats her by 10 points.

Why on would you say the Left fears her? Because they love to joke about her and ridicule her so much? Given that, I would say the opposite, they see her as a guaranteed easy hit. Which is why the love to do it so much.

I know I sure am. I wish Oklahoma or Wyoming went first. I bet we would get much better candidates that way.

If Palin throws her hat in the ring, the dynamics of the race will be radically altered.

Or, should I say, the dynamics of the LAMESTREAM MEDIA REPORTING ON THE RACE will be radically altered.

The left will do ANYTHING to keep her from running, including lying about poll results. They had Reagan losing in a landslide to Carter, right up until election day.

Isn’t that an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp?
