Last November, the Republican party swept into the house with a vengeance. They also gained substantially in the senate. Many credit their success to the Tea Party.
The movement energized people who wanted smaller government. It gave America hope that we could avoid a disaster that both Bush and Obama seem determined to force upon us.
Today Amy Kremer is worried that the Tea Party's ideals are too "radical". She is urging candidates to compromise. Talk of shutting the government down is "just not realistic."
It's important that the Tea Party stick to their guns and get the 61 billion dollar cuts passed through. The fact that this is little more than a rounding error in our 3.7 trillion dollar budget doesn't seem to bother her.
"Youre going to have those purists, those hard-liners, who say, Shut down the government and cut everything'. But thats not practical. Thats not being realistic.
Look, if we wanted status quo Republicans, then there isn't any point to the Tea Party. The American people clearly voted for a radical departure in November.
In another sign that the Tea Party Express is abandoning it's founding principles in favor of a "pragmatic" approach, Kremer is also planning to only support more mainstream candidates next time around.
Amy Kremer is a pragmatist in the ugliest philosophical sense of the word. She has no principles, and just wants to take the "practical" approach on any given issue.
"There are people who are practical and realistic and understand how this works. That doesnt mean that they necessarily started out that way. But they have evolved into that, and I think its a learning process and a growing process and were all working together to affect change, so how do we get there?

I’m okay with compromise. The America-hating socialists want to cripple our children by wasting $1.6T more than they collect next year, and the Tea Party wants a responsible balanced budget. Let’s compromise on an $800B deficit next year. The following year, we can compromise on a $400B deficit . . . until balance is a painless change.
No!
Shut down the government.
Whothehellis Amy Kremer?
The TEA Party has no “leader”.
Shut ‘er down!
Bogus; there is no head of The Tea Party. Smells like Liberals at work to me.
Who is Amy Kremer?
Shut it down!
I’d rather have a quote from John Galt. Yeah, I know... but if it were possible the answer would be: SHUT. IT. DOWN.
Whoa, that was a heckuvalotta GMTA all at once.
Who is Amy Kremer?
We do need to force the Democrats to defend every one of their programs with the absurd fervor of Harry Reid defending cowboy poetry just to publicly shame them.
“But they have evolved into that, and I think its a learning process and a growing process and were all working together to affect change, so how do we get there?
Are we sure de-evolution isn’t taking place
Amy Kremer considers herself a true Southern Belle. She was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Auburn University. She is a former Delta Airlines flight attendant who has traveled all over the world. Prior to the Fall of 2008, Amy had never been involved in politics. During the campaign season, she found she had a real interest in politics and began blogging. Amy became politically active early in 2009 through social media. She was one of the original founders of the Atlanta Tea Party and was also the nationwide event coordinator for the first round of tea parties that took place across the country on February 27th. After the February 27th tea parties, Amy worked very closely with the Don't Go Movement, Smart Girl Politics, and TCOT (Top Conservatives on Twitter) as the Nationwide Event Coordinator for Tax Day Tea Party. She was instrumental in coordinating the efforts for Tax Day Tea Party 2009. During the first week of March 2009, after realizing through all of her hard work with activists across the country, there was a movement being born out of the tea parties, she founded the organization Tea Party Patriots. In August of 2009, Amy joined the Tea Party Express bus tour and traveled across the country. After the first Tea Party Express tour, Amy was thrilled to be asked to be a part of the second Tea Party Express tour. Earlier this year, Amy joined the Tea Party Express PAC as the Director of Grassroots and Coalitions. In her position of Director, Grassroots and Coalitions, Amy is working with other organizations and individual activists across the country to build the grassroots movement. Amy has spoken at many tea parties and rallies across the country. She was a speaker at the 9/12 March on D.C. and was a keynote speaker at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville. In the Fall of 2009, Amy also participated as a panelist at the Value Voters Summit in Washington, D.C. She has appeared on Fox News Channel, as well as CNN, NBC, and MSNBC and other media outlets as one of the original grassroots coordinators within the movement.
Not a lot of depth here. You could almost see her as an Obummer voter in '08.

I wish to call a BS alert on this one.
Who the He!l is Amy Kremer?
Did she appoint herself to be the Tea Party spokesman?
I don’t want to compromise on anything.
The Tea Party has the momentum and should not allow RINOs to get in the way.
Hey Amy!
Shut up and sit down!
TINO!
Tea Party in name only!
I met Amy when she campaigned for Christine O’Donnell and this doesn’t pass the smell test. Either this is bogus or somebody got to her, big time.
NO COMPROMISE! We’ve seen what “compromise” looks like for the last 10 plus years.
Dittoes to:
The Tea Party doesn’t have leaders.
Article is bogus.
