Republicans fiscal 2012 budget blueprint, released by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, would also scrap President Barack Obamas health-care law, remake federal welfare programs and allow oil and gas companies to drill more freely.
It cuts $6.2 trillion over the next decade compared to Obamas 2012 budget proposal. Compared to current policy levels, it slashes $5.8 trillion in spending. See text of plan from House Budget Committee web site.
The GOP budget lands in the middle of an intense debate about government spending and debt, and comes a day after Obama announced his 2012 re-election bid. By presenting a plan to lock in spending cuts, replace Obamas health-care law and allow new Medicare beneficiaries to choose private plans, Republicans say theyre leading where the president has failed.

GO, GO, GO, GO, GO!!!!
Cut until it hurts then cut some more. We need to destroy the behemoth that government has become. It is the only way to eventually reach the right size for a time until it grows to unreasonable proportions again.
It is a nice vision but it won’t happen in this administration. Obastard must be gone before we can actually move ahead as a nation. Until he is gone we will be mired in conflict.
If the reduction in government employees and programs and construction temporarily sinks the economy... so be it. This s a price that must be paid. Without paying this price we are doomed anyway.
Before someone says "you can say that again".

It’s a start. Affordable government is always a good goal. Government needs to be cut in size, as well as in cost. I have a few suggestions. Do away with Homeland Security. Do away with all the unconstitutional czars. Get rid of the Department of Education, and the EPA. Break up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and let the Treasury take over the role of the Fed. Get government out of housing and banking. Rethink our immigration policies, and get serious about stopping illegal immigration. Stop democratizing Islam, and get brutal in retaliation for terrorist acts. Stop harassing innocent Americans, and start profiling Muslims. Stop funding union thugs, community organizers. These are some of the items I’d like to see on a budget proposal.
LOL. NICE and WOO-HOO!
Thanks for the ping!
Finally, fiscal sanity has a chance.
Shumer isn't stupid and Pelosi isn't poor. On the average, Democrat politicians are wealthier than Republicans. Bureaucrats make more than people working comparable jobs in private industry. Nor are teachers stupid about getting your money. They ALL have better retirement and benefits than just about anybody.
For them... everyone who has a job is wealthy and has no right to more than the guy who cant seem to get out of bed before 10:00 a.m.
That's just lip service justification they fling in your face to get you to knuckle under.
For them, there is no stigma associated with an aversion to W O R K!!!!!
That's because they've got you working for them.
Thanks Ernest. That’s a pretty nice ax, and a good number.
In case anybody’s been hiding under a rock today...
PING!
